I don't believe there will be a 2nd Civil War per se, because minorities are what, like 31% of this country? If something of that nature happens and the police, miltary, national guard and the "good ole boys" get involved, it will end fairly quickly. Rioting only destroys their own neighborhoods. If they think they are just going to run havoc, it will be over quick like.
But that could be the situation that lets the pres open up the back door for his agenda, maybe UN soldiers on their side? And of that 31%, a portion of that percentage have moved on and are normal people and would stay out of this.
Just because some of that percentage "think" they are soldiers, wear the fatigues, act "gangsta", when the bullets start flying and that lil crap pistol runs out of ammo, or that AK cant hit broadside of a barn, they will be running back to momma.

But as 1Admin said, you can't have your head up your butt with this situation. You have to stay aware. And educated. That is the beauty of social media, it reports the new faster than the news. I am following this case real close because this Zimmerman guy has already been convicted in the court of public opinion. If its proven that he did kill in self defense and this kid wasn't some "12 year old sweetie" as the pictures depict, be prepared.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Definitely time to drop a couple of extra mags in the carrier, maybe drop something heavier behind the seat in the truck. The story largely NOT making the major media, including FOX, is of a good shoot brought about by unwise actions. It still likely a good shoot and SHOULD NOT result in criminal conviction for Zimmerman, though you can bet he's ruined. The defense expenses and the guaranteed civil suit afterward will be the end of his future. I've got to travel about the state, you can bet I'll be carrying.

Lie was just said, the opening the media (and the situation) is making for a civil liability suit is forming up nicely. And I can flat guarantee you the parents of Martin are probably getting that very same advise from a slick lawyer that specializes in this sort of thing. But I'm going to play the devil's advocate here...

He does get cleared (however unlikely as the media and more than a few politicians have already convicted him) and goes on to face the civil suit. No matter what, the fact he pursued Martin on foot will be central to the case. "You use force when you have to" the lawyer will say. "And isn't it true Mister Zimmerman you could have avoided using lethal force had you not followed Martin on foot?"

I mean, case closed for the prosecution. I'm not taking a side here, just seeing a likely outcome of the whole situation. But frankly, this is also turning the old adage of "be judged by twelve rather than carried by six" around on its head. People will, and you can argue until you're blue in the face with me on this, people WILL be thinking twice about pulling the trigger on a known attacker because of the color of his skin if this plays out like I just stated. You can argue and puff your chest out all you want and scream "I won't ever hesitate!", but when and if he gets found guilty in a civil court, the decision will give us all pause for thought if the aftermath is what we are all predicting it will be.

But the other side of this, the political angle. You can see the sharks already starting to circle in the water. "Oh, he had a concealed carry permit for that evil gun! Didn't we call it the gunshine state for a reason? We KNEW this was going to happen!" And suddenly no politician wants to lose votes because of the riots that WILL happen when Zimmerman is cleared by the police. They will see the aftermath and rioting when the FL State Police probably find it a good shoot, as will the FL Attorney General, the Justice Department will...might find it a good shoot depending on the situation and the witness accounts the media has so thoughtfully ignored thus far. But when they do find it to be a good shoot...there will be rioting. And suddenly the roaches come out because "hey, we can riot, loot and burn all we want because others are doing it!"

And politicians have a long memory when it comes to this. And frankly they will see what devastation came to their district and frankly look the other way and vote against any further concealed carry legislation. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see the whole sche-bang get put on the voting block to rescind in Florida if it hasn't already. CCW could become a memory because politicians cannot go against the voting public and the fact a few caused huge problems for the rest to take advantage of. They can and will back off their 2A stance because nobody wants to be associated with the reasons the riots started in the aftermath of the Martin decision. No matter how weak the link is, they will buckle under the pressure. There will be exceptions, but I feel they will be in the small minority.

You think LA was bad in 1992? I'm wondering what Miami, Tampa and Orlando will be be like. As well as D.C., NYC, Chicago, LA, San Fran, Atlanta, Philadelphia...the list goes on. People are looking for an excuse to get out and cause trouble and sadly, this incident has given them the vehicle to do so. They are biding their time, but they will come out when it's all said and done.

Kind of rambling on here, just a few things I've been thinking about.

          And loading up more mags.

Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

open threat on someones life- felony
opening stating you want to start a militia is a state where you cant--more charges...

change the name of the group to 3 K's and we'd have the atf, fbi, dea, dhs, tsa and the boyscouts lighting the fires...within 24 hours of threat.

and yet the man who sent an email threat to sanfords police chief is already arrested....

Yep. Don't leave Jacksonville off the list with the Black Panther douchebags there in force. I'm on the road this week. Had a long talk with my wife about security, keeping her travel routes out of the problem areas, remaining aware of the news and what to do if there is an inflammatory announcement that sets this all off. We've talked about where to go if she's away from the house and can't get back, as well as rendezvous locations if I have to come get her. She has her pistol in it's pocket of her carry purse, a 6-pack of spare mags in the console, and she took my shotgun and ALL of the buckshot <grin>. She likes buck, I like slugs. I've also emailed my friends and family and discussed my concerns with them.

Traveling, I may have to get 300+ miles from south Florida back north to get home. I'm carrying spare mags for my Glock, which I rarely do. I packed my Sub2K that takes the same mags, and the carrier with the 33rnd mags I use with it, as well as more spare pistol mags. I also started carrying a pocket pistol that I usually carry INSTEAD of the Glock in low risk situations as a backup, which I never do.

I keep thinking about the riots in California years ago, when the crowds pulled that driver out of his vehicle as he sat at a red light and they kicked and beat him to death. No thanks. Fortunately I've been shot at and shot back successfully. I know how I'll react and that I can deal.

You can never have too many weapons or too much ammo, no matter where you are. I'm not allowed to carry a firearm at work but I can have it in my car and I carry everything else I can think of in my workbag!

Good idea Matt. There'll likely come a time that it's so dangerous I'll have to secretly carry one at all times no matter the law. Like the saying goes, "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried out by 6". Of course if it's gotten to that point I'll likely not have a job anyway so it won't matter! LOL

Same situation here. I leave my firearm in the car and my service bag is actually a range bag that is stuffed full of "gear" and just a little bit of room for actual tools needed to do my job :D
