    And this was one of the bad places - we were on loan to the Marines, came under Command And Control of the 3rd Marine Division, and operated with them from the Laotian border along the DMZ to the South China Sea. Or, as the Marines called it - "Indian Country."

      LOL I remember my days in D.C. I was as nervous as a longtailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs!
      Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream.         In the early 70's I was sent to Winn Dixie Supermarket produce school in Miami, and figured out I was in the wrong neighborhood when we went to eat at Kentucky Fried Chicken. The servers were behind bullet proof glass and pushed your order out thru a slot in the counter.

          rice, You tell folks in the midwest these stories and they look at you like you've got three eyes. I remember 3 kids tried to mug me outside a White Castle hamburger joint when I was about 8 years old(1968). Mom dropped me and circled the block while I went inside. When I came out they slung me against the wall and demanded my money. I said I didn't have any(It was clenched in my fist....lol). About that time Mom showed up, honked the horn and they ran. I'm surprised they didn't take my burgers! LOL

            I am sure Panetta wanted it that way, and with good reason. He knows what he has done to the Marines and to this country, he just wasnt sure if any of them knew.
