IF MY WELL PUMP IS DOWN IS THERE A WAY TO SIPHON THE WATER OUT OF A BORED WELL WITH OUT A GENERATOR?

Propbably not "siphon", but there may be ways to raise water to the surface (other forms of pumping or lifting). The big issue is the vertical distance between well head and underground water level. Do you know that distance? -
yeah they used to do this back in the day...its called a hand pump. use google images to see what one looks like....there are more modern versions but the principle hasn't changed...lever, pivot, ram, force from your arm drives the ram which draws the water up the pipe.

i was told if it was a bored well or a drilled well it makes a difference mines about 300' drilled and they said a hand pump would not work . it might had been his answer so he would not have to do it.Comment

The thing is, the depth of the well doesn't matter. It's the distance from the surface to the water level that is important. Mine comes up to about 12 - 15 feet, so I can use a hand pump (even though the well itself is drilled to 600+ feet.)This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. ~Elmer DavisComment

You can make a well bucket if you know the diameter of your casing. Get PVC that will fit down the I.D. of the casing, install a check valve on the bottom of the PVC. You need to know the water level. Add enough chain to get you down. The water will open the check at impact, and close when you pick it up. I'm keeping my eyes open for a well pump too. I found out today that every 33' there is an atmosphere change that increases the pressure significantly. I was told that besides the problem of priming at that depth, or deeper, you couldn't physically hand pump water. That got me to thinking about looking for a solar powered submersible, if there is such a thing. Anybody hear this about hand pumps?Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

Just clicked on that first link, elittle. Thanks for the info.Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. We looked into the "Bison Pump" deal but the cylinder on our first well was too small. We opted for a second deep well with a hand pump. Eventually will go solar with a third well.Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"
