What is really sad is the people who go on these shows think they are doing us a good turn. Reality TV does no good for anyone period. It gives people like the New York Times cannon fodder to go after anyone who preps. It gives the LEFT a ton of material to push for more restrictions against all of us. It is very sad. GB

I have never figured out why folks insist on believing such twaddle that shows other folks who have other ideas as somehow nut jobs. I used to see it with religion - if you didnt subscribe to someone else's personal beliefs they would believe all kinds of wierd rumors about your religion; then it was political beliefs; now it is preppers. All I can say is that they have not talked to enough real preppers, but rather to folks who knew no preppers personally and were basing things on 'things they heard on the street'.
Reporters have lost their ability to detect BS. Apparently they are pressed to turn out stories quickly and hang the accuracy. Just run it past legal to make sure nobody gets sued.....Comment

That is the first step to making those who prepare being seen as outcasts from normal society. Then it will much easier to enact laws and round up these 'nut-jobs' for public safety.

Gives a good example for living a comitted, "gray" life. Funny how there's no serious outcry about the lack of education or destruction of morals and families with shows like Jersey shore or one of the hundred "Housewife" shows. Too bad they can't put a real housewife on T.V.!Comment

Have you not noticed that the first step in handling someone you don't like (for liberals) is to make fun of them? Then you tell everyone how 'dangerous' they are... Then you drum up an 'emergency' that you can blame them for... Then you can get rid of them through legislation passed in the hysteria of the manufactured emergency. (BTW, I like my tinfoil hat.)
I worked many years in Madison, Wisconsin, also known as 'little berkely' during the 60s. There are many folks there that are so liberal they go to their bosses trying to get folks fired that do not conform to their political agenda, claiming they 'can't work with them'. Few bosses have the courage to say "Well, you better, because it sounds like a personal problem to me." Many of the 60s college liberals stayed and got gub'mint jobs as well. Needless to say, I learned to 'submarine' (or live gray, if you like) early on. I agree. And I do watch the show because I have actually gleaned some useful info from it from time to time. Plus, it's entertaining. Bill I spent my first 15 years of life in Maryland(4 miles south of D.C.). I remember even in the 60s and 70s it was the same way there. We kept our eyes forward, didn't wave at anybody out of friendliness and didn't speak to anyone unless we needed to.
