  • Tornado Season 2012

Buckle up folks, here we go again.

Please, be safe. Practice your tornado drill with your family, neighbors, dogs, fish, whatever.

    HAVE A PLAN!

Don't be the guy or gal who says " Eh, the hell with em, I am going to play Farmville until my back hurts from picking so many veggies and not watch the weather report"
You are one of the people they have to pull out from rubble.

Invest in a radio with NOAA capabilities. Weatherband on an iPhone for Pete' sake. Know where to go in your home, with long notice or with short.

I went through this last year and it was not fun. I got the family where they were 5 feet from the closet while I stood at the doors watching and listening. When it got bad, I got in the closet. We were missed by 3 miles. Actually saw the debris cloud SE of me when the lighting flashed. It tore some stuff up. If you ever ride 75 south in GA and you go between High Falls Road and Johnstonville Road, you will see what bypassed me by 5 miles. Nuclear Wind.

My brother just moved to the NW of Ga and night 2 in their new place and its Round 2 of the Tornadoes. They developed their plan.

Prayers, lots of em. And my thoughts go out to everyone effected today and the last couple of weeks. Just saw a town in Indiana that is GONE.

This is going to be another bad year folks, HAVE A PLAN. Dont try to protect any possessions other than your life and your families. Forget about that Tacticool Bucket Doohickey. Have a plan.

Yup yup, real as survivalism gets and it comes fast. It's a well invested 10minutes to 1/2 hour just covering it with the family and though it may not be the envy of the neighborhood or range it will probably save more lives and is what being in charge of the family is really about, taking care of them!
Don't forget to use that coolio gear like helmets, body armor, or motorcyle helmets and chest plates etc. Most tornando death/injuries are from trauma wounds. Which can bring you into your next training

Indeed Matt. Our weatherguy ole Glenn Burns on WSB in Atlanta preaches to wear a motorcycle or bicycle helmet. I have one and my son has one but believe those 2 helmets will be on the 2 youngins quick like. Gotta get 2 more, ASAP.

Also, folks if you have a bunch of crap on your back porch or yard that can become projectiles, hunker it down if you know a good storm in coming. It may not effect you necessarily but it could launch itself at your neighbors and possibly kill em.

NE Alabama and NW GA, yall be safe tonight.

This is from the storm that hit about 20 miles north of me last spring. This was tragic for the people up there. Didnt get any of the pics of the one south of me but you can see what an F4 does....check out the metal building. Steel cant even stop Momma Nature.

We travel on I 75 through that area often and seeing the damaged caused is unbelievable. We had two close calls last year. Last one that came through took out probably 20 or more hugh hardwoods in our woods just below the house.

Be careful and watch Glenn tonight.
