I have nothing or no one that I can "train" with. Thats one of the reasons I like this site so much is because I can feed off of you folks' knowledge, experience and lessons, apply it to my own thoughts and experiments.
    Exactly!
Standing in a ready position with my pistol I am farely accurate. Trying to do a quick draw from my concealed holster and hit...well, frankly I suck. lol It took me some time to find someone that is a CCW that would spend the time to give me some pointers. Am I "Mr. bulls eye"? No, but I have corrected alot of my problem with a couple of errors I was making.
It's hard to get that kind of correction from the internet.

        UPDATE!!!

Well I have failed at this task it seems. The liberal female I started this post about just threw it all into the trash pile.

Her hubby has talked her into buying a new house ($150,000+). Which is cool no problem. UNTIL I TELL YOU THE DETAILS!!

She (nursing student) and her husband (UPS driver) get FREE daycare from the government because of their income level. She gets the majority of nursing school paid as a grant from the government, the rest as government loans. And the KICK IN THE FACE today?!?!?! They are getting a new house, no money down, and once again because of their income level, the State of Texas combined with a Federal house purchasing program are paying $8,000 for closing costs and downpayment (as a grant-no paying it back).

So she tells me they decided to not invest in food stockpile but rather put everything into the new house they are going to be getting in approximately a month.

Just goes to show you, once the democrats have their "welfare" hooks into you, you never leave their enslavement (err voting party)...

This is so true. It reminds me of one of my best friends from highschool. A few years after highschool she ended up having a child out of wedlock. She went on welfare just until she got back on her feet because her family refused to help her. Well everytime she reported earning some income to the welfare office they kept trying to discourage her from even trying to get off of the welfare system. I was incredulous that they kept telling her that she should not even bother trying to better her life, but that is what they did.

As for encouraging people newly into preparedness, my dh's aunt is now on board with preparedness. I have had several telephone discussions with her on preparedness, as well as, having sent her lots of info via email. I keep telling her to take small steps as she says how overwhelming it is, which it is. I have sent her the P.A.W. videos on LTS, as well as, the link to this site. It is definitely encouraging to know that they are trying to get prepared.

Wasted some time it appears because "we are just gonna buy this and call it good" and not from who i recommended(JRH) either.
Talked with another one 4 months ago and he finally went and got barrels after a 4mth debate with himself. I didnt know that putting water in barrels was sooooo hard. We wash them (tomatoe paste), sanitize them then fill them up. He says so I can drink this now? I says you just took water from your tap and put it in here. He says soooo I can drink it? Me, sigh, yes you just put the water from the tap like you did in your glass in the kitchen in here. He says yeah but its a barrel. He shoulda prepped on self defense because at this point i'm wanting to test out my new knife.
