  • What i did this week to be ready for wtshtf

Hello out there. Tell me what you think. I value what you think.
First off i believe we will have a economic crisis, which may cause a run on the food stores.

This being said my first priority it food. So I have enough can goods for 30 days for my family (plan to increase this each week) combined with freezer foods (hoping eclectic grid stays up) incresed my food to 90 days.

Everything you read about talks about water. I have 15 gallons of fresh drinking water. And access to 38000 gallons and means of purification.

Seed bank just starting this one but will add to it this week. Goal is to be able to have enough to use as a bartering tool. (fesh vegetables and seeds).

Protection One shotgun 50 rounds bird shot (plan it to have 1000 rounds with all types of shot). Also going to pick up my new glock this weekend.

Done some other stuff hand tools ect. will go into that more at a later time.

Also pick up a case of wasp spray (cheaper than pepper spay and does a great job on wasp and bad guys). And if a can is behind the seat of my pick-up local police never give it a second look.

Pleae give me some feed back
    Thanks

Good start, keep moving forward, dont forget medical and skills
dunno where you are but if you use wasp spray with intent you will probably go to jail and be sued where some places allow pepper spray check out the laws before using the internet defense methods

Good start. Do you have a written plan? I found that having written 'goals' helped me to avoid those spur of the moment that's cool purchases. Keep pluggin away. good luck.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

Great reminder, even for us old skewl types.

Recently I was beginning to "wander aimlessly in a sea of preparing decisions" Ha ha ha just kidding. But seriously I was contemplating "what's next." I was beginning to slowly stray from the course. I found an old notebook, circa 2004-2005 'ish where we had inventoried most of our stuff and made notes for future "needs", etc.

I probably haven't accessed this notebook much in the last couple years. My "goals" for 2009, 2010 and 2011 were mostly on course, probably 80-90% of what was on there. That being said, I wrote those in some "hard years" aka the starving times (financially). So realistically I should have been further by now.

Long boring story shortened- finding that helped me get "back on track" and firm up in my mind's eye, what I had been debating about for my next purchase.

Keep good notes, write down goals like Ex said. It will help.

One thing that always helped me, literally from the time I was a teenager, was visualizing where I really wanted to go with this- living in the country, producing my own power, growing most of our food, etc. Our house and place look nothing like that 14 year old then envisioned, but the goal never changed. Which reminds me of something I should post that I've been holding on to for a long long time....
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

Thank you Matt didnt think about the laws with the spray, and also to you EX121 and 1Admin going to set down and put some notes together.
Alot to think about, my goal is to try to do something each week to get ready. Sometimes it feels like Im shooting at an elephant with my old red rider BB gun. lol.
What is on top of each of your priority list?

This series will help each of you begin creating a preparedness foundation that you and your family can rely on when unexpected situations present themselves.

Check this out. Helped me a ton and gave me some good ideas. I am a lil unorthodox with my stuff but I have sent this link to a few folks and they seem to use it. Mrs. Pennington has some pretty good ideas. A lot of it is common sense, but its a start.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?
