  • Prices tidbit...

So last night, my wife and I went to our local Food Lion (big food store chain in Southeast). Just went for out essentials. Milk, bread, cereal, yogurt, etc. We looked at the generic Food lion brand fruit loops. IF you buy the box cereal, it is $3.54. That is for 12.2 ounces. Comes out to a whopping 4.05 per pound, but if you buy the huge 32oz bag it is 1.75 per pound. Be a smart consumer. 32 oz bag was 4 cents cheaper than the 12 oz box. I told the wife that if we buy 10 bags now, we will probably save about 20 bucks later. WOW! Hope the kids love oatmeal...cuz I have lots of that.

I've never understood why so many people ate cold cereal as expensive as it is.
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

DH loves dry/cold cereal mixed into his yogurt, especially grape nuts or similar.

When I'm lazy and don't juice, I like cold cereal with unsweetened almond milk... A box costs, lets say for round figures, $4.00. Let's say I get 6 bowls per box. That is $0.67 per breakfast meal less cost of almond milk. I don't think that is expensive at all if someone likes cold cereals...

I still can't resist the urge for a bowl of Coco Puffs every now and then...

OH OH and the chocolate milk I get to drink at the end... :)
