I'm seeing an interesting conundrum in this thread that really is an important one: The joining/grouping of "Preppers" and suvivalists to "Patriots" and other political activists and making them ONE GROUP... This assumption is incorrect, I believe. I think they are TWO groups that may or may not have dual membership...

As for the video, is this any different than the political letters and articles written before and during the Constitutional Convention by various founding Patriots under their "nom de plume" or "pen name?" Whether they be "Federalists" or "anti-Federalists," were not these writings political warfare? Did not the "majority" also call these authors "dangerous" or even "seditious," seeking these authors out to find their true identity so they could be persecuted? Although poorly done and too focused on "citizen soldier" training, I saw these videos as a form of political COMMENTARY... There was NOTHING in them that implied their goal was to overthrow our existing government, rather it seemed to be as a reminder to modern people of our founding principles and citizen responsibility (training)...

But Preppers and survivalists are a completely different organism... Although they may be politically active, their focus is really SELFISH, and I use that word in a good "Ayn Rand" way... SELF CENTERED for SELF PRESERVATION. They prep for their own survival, as well as their immediate families. So it is right that these people "prep quietly." And the training in this video would be all about SELF PRESERVATION to a Prepper/Survivalist, even applauded as good training, if it were not for the political quotes... But because this video is a POLITICAL video, preppers and survivalists get all kinked out of shape, and rightly so, as it is a public proclaimation, a form of modern-day political warfare (waking people up with a slap across their head, so to speak), which goes against everything a prepper/survivalist holds as sacred: PRIVACY, STEALTH, HIDDEN, SILENT.

To mix the two will bring all forms of confusion, segregation, and persecution...

I was going to set this one out, but like a bad car wreck...you have to look. First, on the idea of people think preppers are crazy; yes, we are fed a constant barrage of tripe by the news wonks and wonderful shows like Doomsday Preppers that if you are not dependent on Uncle Sugar, you are crazy. After all, he will never allow bad things to happen to you, cradle to grave. I work with folks of that mindset.

As for the video in question. Either that group learned nothing from the nineties... or they fully understand what they did. Anytime a video gets out like this, the alphabet soup agencies use it against law-abiding citizens. In this case, they put it out in everyone's face. Some will see this and and pass it around to "friends." This puts them in the cross hairs of certain agencies or it is used as propaganda for other groups that I don't need to spell out to this group. Faux news, CNN, etc will show this as an example of right-wing dissatisfaction. MSNBC will have a special about the growing threat of the Mullissha (purposefully misspelled). No, a video like this doesn't do anyone any good under out current form of government. Some will seethe video, pass it around and put themselves under scrutiny. The stat is have heard is, one person out of 10 in a group is a agent, or paid informant. Some will be fearful that the guy down the street that hunts and wears camo is a terrorist and drop a dime. ---Prep quietly---

A LOT of people from the patriot movement in the 90's should be glad their wasn't youtube, Iphone video, etc. back then.

The gubmint, the fourth estate (media) slice and dice things to make them look different than what they are. They will seek out that one dunskie in the group, get him to do something really stupid (FA homebrew stuff, play with chemistry sets for nefarious goals, etc. you get the drift) and then after setting him up, get him to drop a dime on the others.

NEVER, ever, have anything to do with any dumbarse that comes around even TALKING about "let's convert this" or "let's build this device" etc. SUPER HUGE RED FLAG DANGER WILL ROBINSON..... GTFO should be your answer.

The Feds are so intent on infiltrating and subverting groups like this, that they lose sight of the muslim groups, and other real terrorist groups that are the real enemy.
