Canning lids on clearance @ WM

I bought 20 pkgs for $1.00 / 12 lids. Better Homes and Gardens brand with a fancy gingham top that means nothing to me. Regular lids from Kerr were $1.68. I called my folks to see if the ones on sale were a good price and they told me the "normal" price was about $1.25. Going up?

Ours had the BH&G pint sized mason jars on clearance as well - 12 for $4...

I bought some of the lids, but they only had regular mouth lids, not wide mouth. Most of my canning jars are wide mouth.

Thanks I will check ours out at lunch... I see Menards has the big 1/2 gallon wide mouth jars I keep hoping they will stick on sale. I have about 5-6 of these but would love to get a couple dozen mostly for dry pack... ;o)

Wm isn't doing the clearance deals they used to on much of anything.

Heck I thought the idea was to get MORE competitve when the economy went to helenahandbasket, not LESS competitive....

Lowest we've ever found was $.25 a dozen there, long time back. Bought cheap and stacked deep. ;)

Understand the slight ease of labor with the wide mouths versus the regular, but keep in mind regular mouth lids are everywhere, wide mouths are not.

No more than 50/50 would probably be the safest way to go logistics wise.

Sometimes Ebay will have deal on cases of lids also. Age doesn't seem to matter IME.

They are down to $.25 per dozen. I bought all they had. Will share them with my parents, but that puts us in the 50 dozen range.

ive looked 2-3 times a week since b4 christmas at my local wmts,no discount on canning supplies,i would buy more jars even tho i have 35-40 dzn..they might be pure gold one day

These weren't with the canning supplies. They were over in a clearance aisle.
