My husband, my 10 year old daughter and I are going to the 8/28 rally. I hesitated a little before making my plans. There appeared to be some gouging going on re: hotel rates. Today I was able to find a tolerable room rate, 1.5 miles from the Lincoln Memorial. I attended the 9/12 event last year, and was strengthened by seeing the number of patriots who had sacrificed time and money to take a stand. I feel that we are making a difference...if only in empowering others like us to step up. I would ask for prayers from the folks on this site for those of us who are traveling. I would also ask for clear heads, and for a willingness to attend whatever comes peacefully. I think the opposing voice is becoming more desparate to discredit us, and I believe there may be efforts to incite bad behavior.

I've been debating on whether to also to the 8/28. But from where I'm at I can fly up and back from less than $200 dollars and not have a hotel bill. I wish I has selected this one first, but alas I didn't. I also was at 9/12 and will with the same group this year.
Besides voting, I think peaceful and prayerful protest are the few things left for patriotic citizens worried about our country.

I finally decided to go to the 8/28 event also. This event is different from 9/12. While both involve a prayer service, the 8/28 one will have a large gathering of clergy from all Christians and the general public. Mr. Beck has rented the Kennedy Center for this event from his own pocket and admission is free. The 8/28 event is focusing on the return of ethics. I will be going with a group from Nashville.
The Saturday rally will have Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck as speaker. I'm looking forward to both events. Seems I've become a activist in my later years.
