  • A look into the future of our big cities

I have read a ton of stuff about what is going on up there and it seems to me that its turning to the old west quick. I am glad that people are finally growing some plums and fighting back.

My wife and I and our boys went to Fernbank Science Center in Atlanta today. The way that we went, we drove through what I call the hood over off of Moreland Ave and Decatur. The bad parts (we were cutting back across from my buddys auto shop) and I told her...."look around and just imagine what this place will look like if the turd hit the wind maker."

She said, like a stepped on ant bed.

There is NO WAY I would live anywhere within 30 miles of that city. My good friends are buying a house in the Emory section of Decatur. I told him, if it or anything close to it ever happened they would be trapped...these are some friends that would B.O. to my place. He said he would use his 4x4 and run over everybody.

I just dont understand why you would invest your hard earned money to live somewhere like that just for the convenience of shops and food....I mean, dang, we drive 30 mins to the grocery store.

Having lived in Atlanta years ago, I will tell you that it will become a war zone quickly if SHTF in even a small way. It is a New Orleans wanabe. We got out of there after we were robbed for the third time. We moved north into an area that was tough on crime and criminals. this is not to pick Atlanta out as the only place this will happen. Pick just about any major metro and the same story will hold. Chicago is a place I am also familiar with. Some areas of that town are already a nightmare. the farther you get from the major metros the better off you are. As for using a 4x4 to run over people, you have to remember the 4x4 cannot outrun a bullet. GB

I just hope those folks on the Northside of Atlanta realize that the soutside will come for them in a SHTF scenario. The northsiders (the money) will be the buffers and really the "dead weight" on getting to the hills. Being on the outer banks of the southside, we would at least have some time to prepare......I always "imagine" it like in One Second After how they block off the highway in their town. Where I live, we have 5 choke points coming in and out that we could man.

I have heard Chicago is insane

I was being sarcastic as was he on the 4x4 thing...........

I fully realize that not everyone can just pack up and move to the country, but if anyone is given the chance to, even if it means a cut in pay, they really should do so.
In 1995, the company I worked for closed it's facility in Riviera Beach, Florida, and offered me a chance to relocate. The wife and I had been wanting to move to a quieter place for a long time, but it was my childhood home. I grew up there, my kids lived there, my parents lived there, it was a hard choice but one we made. I'm so very glad we did. The crime rate there is very high now, and it would not take much to drive the whole area into chaos.
I truly believe that this was a blessing from God. I thank Him every day for this. I'm not kidding, either.

I am just waiting to get some money for land and my ex to be more flexible with kids custody issue. I have moved twice following her even though we have 50/50 legal and physical custody

is an accurate and perfect description of what will be happening in the cities if the SHTF. Atlanta, Chicago, L.A., Washington DC, New York, New Orleans (I could go on and on). These cities are death traps.

Anyone who has seen the pictures and read the articles about Detroit, knows it's merely an foretaste of whats to come. The future is terrifying. When the welfare checks and food stamp stops, God help the honest citizens who live there.

I don't know anyone who lives in these large cities, but if I did, I'd beg them to move.
