  • Fun thread- Music

What is your favorite music/ band?

I know with some of the generational gaps here it will be interesting to see what people have on their iPods or record players or 8 tracks...lol.

Since the beginning of time, in good times and in bad, the one thing that can either bring people together, sum up a situation, set a better mood or even a worse mood, and even relieve stress....is music.

Some of my faves that get me through the week:
Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Primus, Outkast, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Hendrix, Skrillex, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson, Johnny Cash, Outlaw Country tunes and Mastodon.

I know if there was ever a PAW and I had a good guitar, I believe I could set a good mood at the fort or if I had an electric, I could get a crew hyped up for whatever.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Content is king for me, although there's some things I'll listen to that are just silly:

Mainly I like things to be fast, loud, and relevant.
    This means I <3 METAL.
Yet when I code, I zone out and hack best when listening to something that goes WHOMP
    Yessir,
plop in some Celldweller, Argyle PArk, old skool Circle of Dust, and I'm a happy haxx0r.

I like everything but this new pop country you hear all over the radio. But if I had to choose I would favor the heavier side of the spectrum

Don't listen to music much but ocassionally in the car. Sometimes it might be Casting Crowns, sometimes it might be Chemical Brothers or Prodigy. Wide gap between the two I know LOL
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

Wasn't the OP the one who casually mentioned Justin Bieber stealing hearts or something? lol I'm just saying...

I have a fairly eclectic range of music going from Top 40, hip pop (no Justin Bieber or Bruno Mars, can't stand singers that sound like little girls about to cry when they sing) to 70s/80s classic rock to trance/industrial/house/electronic to just 80s period. Not much country, some modern rock, but not much.

Currently on a 80s rock kick at the moment. Van Halen (both Halen and Hagar), Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi, Don Henley, Whitesnake, etc.

Old country: Hank Williams, Don Gibson, Cash, Jennings Etc.

Southern rock: Skynyrd, Allman Bros., Marshall Tucker, Etc.

Newer country that is loyal to the old sounds: Jamey Johnson, Brad Paisley

And Classical. Nothing fires me up quite like the 1812 overture

I could make a list a mile long! 50's-80's country, 70's rock occasionally, but my favorite right now is a band called The Old Crow Medicine Show- bluegrass/folk/traditional country blend. Also a fan of Hank III- his country NOT his punk noise.

And who can NOT like the Trailer Park Troubadours LOL!!!!!!
