Enjoyed this show. Don't procrastinate if you are living off the land. They need night vision scopes. Wonderful sense of family and community, what little community there is.

So far I really enjoyed this show.

I was very surprised at some of their lack of preparedness. The young couple was talking about how winter (sounded like they were referring to a storm) could come on without warning yet they allowed their wood pile to get down to one day? Scary! But I too enjoyed the show!

I liked the contrast between the one cousin and his wife that had a season of firewood stored, harvested their garden before the snows, and had meat in the freezer, as opposed to the other cousin and his wife that only had the porch full of wood (which was about half gone), now a whole lot of meat, and were harvesting the garden under 2 feet of snow. This show is a great example of the preparedness lifestyle.

My wife and I really enjoy this show as well. It really makes you think about what and how much you need to do to live truly self sufficeantly.

It's a great show! One truth that comes out is that if you don't do it then it don't get done. Gives you a lot to think about ; they are all pretty much stand alone families but they work and stay together like the family they are, (they have each other to rely on). Money still makes the world go round even on the Kenai peninsula and I bet it cost a lot! Watching the show you can't help but imagine life without the things we all take for granted. Keep on prepping!
