2012 "predictions" thread

The election will be marked with some of the most hate filled rhetoric in history. Right now OBama would be reelected if the vote were today.
The Republican Party will fail to draw in the Reagan Democrats due to their infighting.
there will be at least one major attempt by an extremist group to attack the US within the lower 48.
Water rationing will go to stage 4 in many areas of the country where no outside watering will be allowed.
Gasoline will continue to rise in price as the Middle East becomes a powder keg.
China will establish a base of operations in the Western Hemisphere for their Navy.
Russia will crack down on anti Putin groups. Russia will begin to move back to try and regain old territories lost when USSR broke up.
Pakistan will open bases up to China to operate in Pakistan (Puts India in cross hairs)
North Korea will actually tone down its act under the new kid (He sees other ways of getting what he wants from his Swiss education)
Iran will make moves within the Shiite groups in Iraq and may bring on a civil war between them and the other factions in Iraq.
Americans will continue to buy foreign made goods and complain about how we have no jobs.
Health care costs will sky rocket
In areas of the US where you have large new foreign immigrants there will start to be backlash by Americans feeling pushed out.
Education in US will take a major hit as schools cut programs and fees go through the roof.
Private schools will face an even tougher time as their costs go through the roof.
Food production will suffer in US due to weather conditions like we had in the 1950s (Too wet and too dry depending on where you are)
there may be only two or three major airlines left in US by year end.
Restrictions will start on buying Freeze dried foods.
Military surplus will also come under the scrutiny of the Feds.
Japan, Italy, Greece, the Scandinavian countries will face default on loans.
Unrest world wide will lead to radical governments being put in place. nationalism will be on the rise. Prelude to war.
Africa will become an untenable mess and most countries will have to pull out and let the ethnic violence take its toll.
South America will try to stay out of the way and let the rest of the world go nuts. Economies will not allow them to stay out. They will suffer like the rest.
Chavez will face a single opposition candidate unlike past elections in Venezuela. His military will keep him in power.
I don't mean to sound so light hearted but that is what we see this year. GB

continued laws restricting our liberties and
violating Constitution.
additonal people can't get medical care for free
add'l muslim attacks around the world
add'l u.s. debt. of about 2 trillion
i find a way to get cheaper electricity.
i plant a bigger garden.
u.s. continues to turn our back on Israel
abortion rate increases.
homosexuals get added protections in the law
u.s. continues to push the homo lifestyle around the world
iran will wait one year for their big attack. they will want obama in the WH

Everything is in God's hands and I'm not going to sweat the small stuff. I will continue to prepare for whatever may or may not come. I still have a job, a roof over my head, and the health of myself and my family. What more could I ask for?

My biggest worry in the election is we have a third party split the republican vote and Obama is re-elected.

I think 2012 is going to be a great year. I am not going to look at the negative but look at the super positive. We can make this new year whatever we want it to be.


I predict more conspiracies and a run on tin foil, the aluminum futures look promising.


And on Dec 21st, I am going to eat at a buffet.

I hope the predictions of Obama winning another term is wrong. I really don't believe our country can take and 4 of that idiot.

1. European economy is failing and will continue to do so.
2. The U.S economy is faltering and getting worse.
3. Iran will have a nuclear weapon within 6 months and the rocket capable of delivering it.
4. Egypt, Libya and the other 'arab spring' countries will continue to be chaotic, with islamic extremest eventually taking over.
5. Israel will be threatened like never before.
6. Famine in the 3 world will get worse, with food shortages spreading to the 2nd world countries of Asia.
7. Derivatives market is teetering. Day traders are making money while the party lasts.
8. Congress will continue to be deadlocked - at least we can be grateful for this.
9. Inflation in food and energy will lower the American standard of living.
10. THE PARTIES OVER.

It's easy to stay negative for there is a lot of evidence out there to reinforce the attitude.

However, had a conversation the other night with some friends who now see the light of whats happening in this country. If they can wake up, I'm hopeful others will as well.

I am praying everyday for this country, and without faith, prayer won't work. So I am remaining realistic, but upbeat.

I think Obama will lose. His base is disenchanted and will not turn out for him like last time. He is losing moderate support all over and conservatives are fired up. The only question will be can the Repub nominee keep thier suppport?

Iran and N. Korea will continue to bluster but will not go too far. They are still too afraid of our military.

The Euro zone will collapse. This is what frightens me today, it could lead to another war.

I could come up with some more but I have to leave soon for the firehouse. Another 48 hour shift.

I agree, I think Barry will sneak in for the second term. I also think Europe will tank, and there will be an abundance of idiots doing stupid things Dec. 21st. They'll thnk it's the end and go for broke! I sure hope I'm wrong on all of the above.

I'll start off with a very glum one-
