As far as jailing the scientist, umm I would have to say a negative on that.
Because one furthers science/education and someone else may use it for harm does not in and of itself constitute a jailable offense.

You should see the stuff we have locked up in BSL4 at WRAIR where I retired from or even worse BSL5 at Ft Detrick where my wife retired from...

There are ALOT of bad things out there people that we have on US soil that our scientists experiment with daily...

What is ironic is his name is "Nobel"...Nobel Peace Prize ring a bell. He invented Tri Nitro Toluene aka TNT what of my favorites pieces of Chemistry history....I minored in Chemistry until I realized I would only be 2 classes short of having a double major which would have extended my time as an undergrad.
