  • Watch out for Trojan virus on forums.

I just got back on line after a couple of weeks of my computers and I mean plural being out of service due to a trojan taking them over. I have to change all my passwords. From what my computer guys tell me it came off a forum (Not this one) dealing with survival issues. I was getting notices from my virus scanner that something was wrong with the site but could not find it when I scanned the computer. Just be aware that something is out there. I know that someone did some posts in my name while I was off line but they did not sign off with GB. Anyway you need to be careful out there. The two computers affected only had the one site in common. If you got any crazy messages from me in the last two weeks I apologize but can't do much about the sender now. GB

is usually the adds that cause a problem - another forum I'm on a lot had a similar problem and ended up having to drop the advertising they were using on their site

Ummm..... So you DON'T have a wealthy father in Nigeria who's trying to get $25,000,000 out of the country and you DON'T need all the members here to help, for a hefty reward???????

        Darn!

Uh huh. Next thing you know I figure you're going to start quoting "Twilight"

For your "Sound of Music" reference, you are hereby sentenced to watch some random 80s action flick with lots of cool guns, large explosions, extreme car chases and general mayhem but very short on plot. Repeat as necessary until you feel the desire to hold an AK over your head and scream "Wolverines!" :D

              J/K

Thanks for the heads up GB, appreciate it.

LOL. First thing I thought of when I heard "Sound of Music" was the scene in The Postman where all the Holnists are watching it at that rock quarry!!

GB- I notice another site we both frequent putting ads literally EVERYWHERE on the site, not just survival type products, LaQuinta inn?? and various other ads that have no relation to things survival. I also noticed when I was posting about the Ocala Campout we just had there last month that when I typed in Katadyn filter (part of the AAR telling about the kinds of filters people had a chance to test there) that somehow the words "Katadyn Filter" were automatically put into links. I'm guessing that site owner figured yet another way to score ad dollars. A little much if you ask me.

If anyone notices any real problems coming from this site, PM me or Spock and we'll have Spock mind meld the darn virus into oblivion!.... He could too.... I've seen it happen :) Then he would simply say "Fascinating."

Yes they are....I grew up in it....thankfully my kung fu was stronger...muh ah ah ah. They don't just stop at the high school level either got to watch out for the community colleges and 4 year schools too. Sociology instructors are the worst imo. Had one that was going on and on about the muscle mass of hero's in movies to the size of their weapons (comparing small .38 to the m-16 with the m-203 underneath)....blah blah blah.

Its mostly the people up in Chicago...I still want to annex it and the rest of the state would be ok imo....Farmers like their guns too but there just aren't enough of them in IL anymore to fight off the number of votes in Chicago plus you got Obama's flunky as the mayor of Chicago.

I watched "I, Robot" again last night, does that count? :)

As for "twilight" not sure what that means. Possibly looking through a night scope???

NO but he did hyjack two of my computers and the only thing they had in common was a site based out of Deep East Texas. I wiped out my log ons and took over my computer. Then it wiped out my data. the bad thing is he or she sent out stuff in my name. Some it was not so bad it seems but he got after my credit card I had on line.
