  • "If you spend more than you earn, you lose your butt" said Alan Simpson

Folks, Everyone needs to read this article. It is not long, so take 5 minutes and read it. They are telling us what will be happening, and even state that if nothing is done, "it" will happen in no longer that two years. I will pull out a few points from the article that I found especially interesting/telling.

[B]Republican Alan Simpson and Democrat Erskine Bowles have a bipartisan plan to reduce the country's deficit, and your particular sacred cow is probably on their list.

[I]...the only way to get the country's finances on a sustainable path is a combination of cutting costs, increasing taxes and encouraging economic growth
Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!

Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!

ATTENTION: No trees or animals were harmed in any way in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were really ticked off!

    NO 10-289!

On the one hand, it's been going like that for years... Every congress just kicks the issue down the road, hoping someone else will deal with it, and not them.

On the other hand, I probably won't have to worry about my stock of canned goods expiring before I need them!

(That's the best I could do in finding a positive side to this...)

I will jumpstart my economy with my " I Survived Dec 22, 2012 and all I got was this AWESOME TShirt!"

If this happens it happens, thats how I feel about it. With 2 young kids, the most I can do is prepare myself to feed, cloth and secure them and my wife from anything and everything. I am no where near where I want to be and not even a hair near most of you folks here. I do know one thing, I am too smart and have too much common sense to fail, break or bend. I will stand tall until I can not stand no more. At least the minimal amount of stuff I do have, I am better off than a huge chunk of the "dependents". I just hope the economy can stay steady for the time being so I can make some more funds at my new job to buy what I "think" I need.

My belief is that if you give it your best then you will be satisfied with your outcome. I know the world is messed up and I know it cant get any better soon, but as long as we make the best of our times with our families and friends, it will be all worth it in the end.

Having the mindset trumps all else.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?
