    Please read this,
I am very sorry because i have to destroy some popular opinions on some things, but i just have to do that. When i said and keep saying "no rules" i mean

Don't underestimate the power of small trinkets in hard times. Everybody wants to feel special.

Didnt see this type of trading with PM even in jewelry in the Balkans. I was there before the IFOR and even by the time we got there I'm guessing all PMs had been traded and moved out of the area. Not to say it didnt happen but the majority of the people had been under a very strict oppresive communist rule for a long time and really had little of value when SHTF there. Heat, food, clean water and not getting raped, blown up by land mines or sniped was the major concern to most common people. Most of the rich bailed. There was very little "middle class" much as is beginning to happen here. just trying to grow stuff and it not get stolen was impossible. Europeans dont have the "5 acre dream" places like we do. They live in town and go to their nearby farms during the day. NO ONE but predators were out after dark back then.
He mentioned trading it for 20litres of fuel. Fuel was the #1 smuggled item into Serbia at the time and was going for roughly what we would convert to $16 a gallon back then. That would translate to right at $50 a gallon now. So one necklace in value but with street inflation i would guess a watch and a necklace IF they think it's real. There is so much shady PMs out there right now not to mention fake jewelry made popular by our hip hop crowd that I wouldnt trade anyone.

      Good points!
I'm also thinking of gateways into getting things done. I seem to remember reading an account from ****** (Argentina collapse account) that small trinket jewelry was valuable for greasing wheels, and getting things done.
The hiphop crowd goes gaudy because of vanity. Vanity can be important leverage in the PAW.
