  • Weren't we just talking about "triggers?"

Drudge Report's headlines are full of some awfully close sounding ones....

Many Greeks are draining their savings accounts because they are out of work, face rising taxes or are afraid the country will be forced to leave the euro zone. By withdrawing money, they are forcing banks to scale back their lending -- and are inadvertently making the recession even worse.

Then add in the Iranian stuff like MonkeyBird posted, the Russians putting ships near Syria, the turmoil in the mideast continuing, Putin having problems at home, the alert for around the holidays that Grinnan posted....

While none of these are probably "triggers" for people individually. Looked at TOGETHER they do paint a picture that doesn't look too good.

Continue to monitor the various situations, rachet up the preps as everyone seems to be doing (business is crazy right now), and above all stay flexible and keep the initiative.

Just so we are clear- I'm NOT saying TS is about to HTF, just saying it's time to take things seriously and be extremely vigilant.

Comms situation here is improved over two months ago, and laying in some LTS food. If I can get a "Christian School" cheerleader coach to pay me for some survival bracelets I made for her to sell at a booth, I'll be getting some more Ammo soon.
If I start hearing weird things on the radio, I'll let everyone know. I can hit central Europe pretty much nitely, I still hear Italians, Germans, French, and Spaniards. I occassionally hear some Croatians, Estonians, European Russians, and Asiatic Russians. I hear no Greek stations though.
      None.
Doesn't mean that they aren't there, but I don't hear them. I'd need eyeball confirmation to determine if anything I was hearing about Greece or Syria is true right now.

All I can say is. I hope 'something' is a loooong way off (if ever). My life is changing dramatically and I am in no good position for 'anything'.
A desire changes nothing, a decision changes some thing's, but determination changes everything.

Working in Orlando for the week. I have noticed that I would not like to be here if something happened. My bag will get me home.....I hope.

Things are a churnin in the world. I truly think everything is comparable to a well thought out chess move. Not checkmate or even close but positioning to mask something else.

Yeah, this place reminds me of certain parts of Atlanta, staying over near the Florida Mall. Its nice to go somewhere with a GMHB that doesnt consist of winter gear.

Around 15 pounds and most of that is my ammo blaster.

If you think you have a bad feeling try sitting 7 miles from the Iran border, gear and prep stuff thousands of miles away and 70 days more to go.

I dont wish 50's position on anyone. I have a similar event happening to me. I am headed out on a cruise ship sunday. I am driving down to Ft Lauderdale from NC saturday. 2 BOB and other stuff in the back of the SUV along with our cruise stuff. My plan is to hope the EMP doesnt hit the ship and it can still make it to port and then the hoofin it begins. IF it does happen, then the chances of me actually getting home are slim to none, but at least I have A plan. Maybe they evil overlords can wait till after Christmas cuz I have bought myself a really nice present. :)

It's interesting to note that more people get their news for TV than any other source. The Internet is growing fast, but the fact remains, people get their view of the world from TV news.

Most of the news being broadcast does not cover the the 'winds of war' blowing across the globe. Reading foreign news articles on line tells a different story from what we're hearing on American TV. If you ask most Americans about 'triggers' they'd think you're a nut. Ignorance, in the case, is not bliss.

Thank you 50bmg for serving. I'll pray for you.

Thanks for the wishes everyone. A few months ago I had my GF send me JW Rawles new book "Survivors" and find myself in a similar situation. Although I didn’t bring any gold with me I did bring some small amounts of silver, but not enough to get home with I'm afraid if things get bad. I knew the risk with my job might place me in the wrong place at the wrong time but still have hope things hold out until I get home. This is my 12th deployment as a civilian in the AO and I knew the risk.
A couple weeks ago I met the propagandist Ted Koppel as he was filming for Rock Central with Brian Williams on NBC. The story will air on Monday 12 Dec at 9 central time I believe. Sure hope the family back home doesn’t worry more after they watch it.
All that’s left to do now is pray for the best.
