Well for a non enterprise level power supply it lasted pretty long. It was full of dust and my guess was the cause of its failure. Lesson I learned even though I cleaned it out with a vacuum be sure to use a can of dust remover to spray in there along with the vac.
*** Note be sure your pc is turned off when cleaning and turn off the power supply at the back too. ***
Thanks for the warm welcome back I hope to get caught up on the posts and start posting again soon...plus all the podcasts got to caught up on all that experience being shared."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

Don't have one of those and I only use it maybe twice a year. Mine isn't Freon 134a, it is 1,1-difluoroethane and Ethyl Alcohol. I use it while running the vac at the same time. Obviously using any thing like this takes some common sense. If I drink to much water it can be toxic.Originally posted by Grantmeliberty View Postthey use freon 134 which is toxic and something you don't want in your environment.
I was stationed on an army base where the groundhogs were as big as 5 year old kids, the fish swam sideways and glowed in the dark, it had the highest population of albino deer, and they found unexploded mustard gas cannister under our chow hall. Not really too worried about the 5 puffs a year I use from this dust remover can. Thanks for the word of caution."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

elittle a month ago I spilled coffee on my beautiful MacBook. Needless to say, I cried copiously as I downloaded my data on flash drives before the computer died. It did die, however 2 days later it came back with major problems. The repair cost me $309.00 and I was out of pocket for a week or so. It then realized how attached I am to my computer.
The repairman pointed out that I also had a lot of dust etc in my computer. Anyway, now I drink coffee far way from my computer.

@MB - now that does stink...the cost to repair Mac's is one of my biggest issues with Apple. I have others but we will leave that for another day.
Glad to hear that you are up and running again. Funny how you miss them when they don't work.
I was cleaning the main compartment of my tower just not spraying out the power supply. I will now :)"It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar
