I am ordering a Wouxun KG-UV3d and With just a few extras with a total cost under 190.00...This seems to be a great intro radio plus couple that with a tech ticket and a whole new world will open up.

You wouldn't believe the number of people who are using CW too, even though they don't have to.
Ok.... I give up..... What's "CW"?

CW = Continuous Wave, the original digital means of communication, colloquially known as Morse Code, and formally known as International Morse Code, and FCC emission designated as A1A.
When you transmit with Morse code the waveform of the signal is not modulated in any manner, so it's a 'continuous wave' of RF energy, as opposed to "Amplitude modulation" (AM) or "Frequency Modulation" (FM)

I got mine a few months ago, but I haven't done anything with it. The test required some studying and I was the only woman out of 15 men. I am glad I got my license. Now I need to spend some money and get all the equipment.

Took a practize tech exam the other day "cold" with no studying.. made a 69% some of the questions are detailed to the Ham world, but hey what do ya expect, with a touch of study it should be no problem.
