  • What I'm thankful for today

I just want to take a second and let the mod.'s and admin. folks know how much I appreciate the time and effort that they put in keeping this site running smoothly and providing us with a place to share knowledge, ideas, and viewpoints- without the drama that too many other sites seem to have problems with.

Some of the things that I'm thankful for today (in no particular order)-

    The love of the Lord
    This site
    Good friends and family
    My freedom
The fact that I am warm, dry, and well-fed in a world where many suffer without these luxuries.

    What are you thankful for?

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Lost my favorite goat today. Spice was a youtube star even, had her 2nd birth on video.

We were up the road visiting some folks earlier today. The boy was out front riding his bike. I went out to watch and he heard some commotion down towards our way. We jumped in the car and got to the house just in time to see a couple of my pack running away from Spice.

She had a couple of piercings/bites. I carried her to the house, called the wife to come home and we got to work on her. Got the bleeding on her neck and head stopped but one bite near her teats would not stop bleeding- something internal from the look of the blood. Her breathing was starting to get belabored and I could tell it wasn't long. We even tried Celox coupled with direct pressure. Evidently they got her really good right there. We sat with her till the end doing what we could for her.

I was able to get a hold of one of the dogs, it wasn't pretty. One of the others fled but a 4 foot piece of 3/4 PVC does help with the reach a little bit.

She was one of two of the goats we started with this 2nd go around with goats. Had her since 07 or so. She had a great personality and when they were babies we would sit in a camp chair and pat our laps and they would jump up into our laps to eat out of our hands. She was my buddy and I rarely get attached to animals. I'll miss her.

The boy talked about how it was bad it happened today. The wife said "well we should be thankful for the years we had with her and the babies she has had for us." The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, Praise the Lord.
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

AMEN! Everyday I thank God for how he has blessed us and pray for this country, the World, and the World's leaders. I also pray for all of our friends and families, who for whatever reason, are not walking with the Jesus.

Admin, I am sorry about your goat.
