Great stuff folks! I've got to add some of these things to my lists!

I don't know if alchohol has been mentioned. I know toiletries was and that's important, especially soap and colognes/perfumes. People will want some semblance of normalcy in their lives and cleanliness would be in high demand.

Some of these may have been mentioned:
-Variety of fiction books. An escape from reality.
-Blankets.
-Gloves and stocking caps.
-Games.


Many of these things could be found in thrift shops elcheapo.

There are ways. I have Jeep wrangler and have one thats connected to the battery to my jeep. You can get them mounted and ran off any car. Just giving you the info in case you didn't know.

medical supplies, liquor, hand tools, ammo, food, even clothing. toilet paper!!!! i know a guy or gal that might like to use real toilet paper in a paw. things that normally are obvious might be a good barter tool. matches lighter. tobacco even.

Speaking of TP, Dollar General has a 6 pack of their brand for $1.
I buy it for back up back up and for trade. I have tons of it

Not to be weird but in our livestock first aid cabinet we keep quite a few tampons and pads, both mini and maxi for Sterile wound coverage and plugging of puncture wounds! very tradable items.

Just like in the old Westerns, alcohol can be given to dull the pain if you have to perform any kind of painful procedure and can be used to clean wounds and medical equipment if needed. Good choice

I think the best thing you can have to barter, unfortunately, is alcohol and prescription drugs. Not trying to be funny, but alcohol could even be broken down into smaller bottles if need be.

More barterable items: heirloom seeds in small packets, cocoa powder, pepper, hot sauce, fertilizer to make emergency ice, plastic ziplock bags, clothespins and rope, diaper pins, plastic pants and cloth diapers, cotton hankerchiefs, and the ability to make baby formula out of dry milk and corn syrup.

having a good solar recharger for a car battery may be worth its weight in gold. you can run tons of things off car batteries, especially if you have an inverter. it would be nice to recharge them and charge people for the service. that or figure a belt driven system, say like to a bicycle to an alternator, to recharge the batteries.

Ooh yeah, good idea. I saw a solar charger for all types of batteries (AA, AAA, C, D) but I have never saw one for a car battery.
I have seen some on RV's that are a trickle charge, dont know if they charge the batteries or not.

That particular time I tightened them too tight with the air gun. I used to torque em down then loosen, then tighten by hand. Now I have a collapsible 4 way and I can hit it with a hammer if need be.

Used to do the same thing with the caliper slide bolts, now its all hand tightening!!! :)
