I wonder if he was using 00 buck?

Whatever the load was it sure dropped 'em when they were hit. :)

I saw it through a link on SurvivalBlog. I also wondered what he was shooting. Maybe 3 1/2"? He was also pretty accurate, to shot a running pig from a helicopter.

My guess, 00 buck, 12ga obviously.

My concern is, that was an awful lot of pigs. Did they just start shooting the feral pigs on that farm?
When I was a farm hand (i'll not use the word they called it on this forum-LOL) we use to rig up pallet traps for the feral pigs.
put some corn on a tension wire and BLAM down goes the door and the pig sits there and eats his last meal. We walk out in the morning with the .22 and play shoot the pig in the trap. Some nights we caught as many as 4, but most nights just 1. But we sure didn't waste the money for all the fuel and renting of a helicopter... But hey, we were poor and I worked for a modest farmer.

Its a real timely that you have that link, my daughter wanted to hunt with me and my friends this year after many years not hunting. She bought a new 870 3 inch 12 gage a few weeks ago and killed a hog on saturday 2 hours into the season. I showed her the video and she wants to know where to apply, she says it looks like a lot more fun than being a PTA.

I assume you can eat feral hogs? (I mean do they taste ok?)

If so, I hope all that meat didn't go to waste!

We did eat the ones we shot. But now that I think about it, feral hogs could be seriously filled with parasites and possibly viruses, best make sure that pork is cooked well done...

Wild hog is good meat. Don't expect bacon from the sides though. They are too lean for that. Them little ones 30lbs or less will fit in the smoker real nice but will dry out on you quickly so you have to watch it more than you would other meat.
Got a funny story for ya. A few years ago a buddy of mine calls me and says we trapped 17 how many you want? I said i'm on my way. My girl loads up with me and my boy is at work and when we get there they have dispatched all the hogs already. I tell my Daughter to get down behind one and pose with my G26 so she does. She sends the picture to my boy and says me and Dad decided to go hunting this morning. It aint 5 seconds and her phone is ringing and she has him hook, line and sinker. She says yep i got him with dads pistol running bout 50yds with one shot. I'm in tears from laughing cause she has him on speaker phone convincing him that compact 9mm is a straight killer. He finally figures it out but it sure was fun stringing him along while he was swoll up like a tick cause he didnt get to go.
