  • Finally!

This summer I ordered some hard red wheat from a local health food store @ ~$25 a bag. First the wholesale co. sent flour, then there was some other delay. But FINALLY, it is a the store! So, I guess I will be packing wheat to store this weekend!

I have some rice in the freezer, I was waiting for everything to get here to pack, don't want to waste any O2 absorbers. Do I need to get it out and let it come to room temp before packing it?

Should I freeze my wheat for a few days?

I would take the rice out now and let it sit for a couple days. Open a bag of the wheat and do a visual check. It PROBABLY does not need it.

Also, I've NEVER opened a container of grains that was packed with mylar and o2 to find bugs in it. Not packaged properly- YES. Packaged properly and with the correct amount of absorption- NO.
Lots of grain rotated over a 12-13 year period of eating out of storage food...

Thanks! I thought I should probably pull out the rice. I thought it might create condensation.
