  • World hits 7 billion people

Wow, this is not good. Momma Nature can not sustain this many people with the resources she has blessed us with.

I smell a "real" war a brewin in the next few years. Something that will rid 1/8-1/4 of the populace......could be in a worthless part of the world or a place with worth....

And in 2025 we will hit 8 billion..

Either A, we need to go ahead and release the Alien Technology to progress or B> Start painting our missles.....

You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

You know what is scary? America is the world's largest consumer based economy. We don't produce much, but we live like we are incredibly wealthy, in every respect. Muslim cultures and countries around the world are coming online with nukes. China owns most of the world's debt. The muslims throughout the world are reproducing about 3 to 4 times as fast as western cultures. Soooo, really poor, huge muslim cultures, expanding rapidly, and coming online with nukes + weakening America, living beyond our means and sporting smart phones, sports cars, and designer clothes = a world that may just get tired of that arrangement in the years to come. So much for Obama bringing world peace. Something else I thought was interesting. Divide 1 trillion dollars of stimulus by 7 billion people. These clowns in Washington actually spent about 142 billion dollars per human on earth, just in the stimulus, and look where we are at. Hard to imagine producing so little, while spending so much. The more crowded earth gets, the more important it is that we have our stuff together, and it don't seem to happen. Google exponential growth. I think it is inevitable that turmoil will arise throughout the world, especially as it grows rapidly, and societies continue to become more broke all the while. Mother nature don't do bailouts.

Alaska alone is 424,491,520 acres give or take... and 7 billion people is about 1.75 billion families of 4. So that means that we could take every 4 people (or family) and place them on a 1/4 acre lot (if I did the math right) in Alaska leaving the entire rest of the world totally un-populated.

Also in Modern first world population is actually getting ready to start decreasing... For a stable population every person would couple up and have 2 kids (ie a family of 4). We all know many people that have no children and many families that have more than 2 kids but as of 2010 census the average household is 2.6 people suggesting the start of a population decline (once average life span is stable)

My view is: (again just my thoughts)

The big problem is not Population; it is land use (or mis-use). For example if we looked at Europe 100 years ago we would notice that the houses were Grouped together in relatively small areas (ie villages) leaving the majority of the land area open for growing food and wilderness to exist, it is like in a way the land use was "managed".

The land was "Managed" by simple economics and need. But with modern cars and equipment we can spread out and don't need large tracks of land for every small village to grow their own food. So we start to "Spread" apart. But that "Spread" means less room for wilderness and more land/water way pollution and less ability to grow food locally. Those are going to be the real problems.

      Communities Not Locally Self Reliant
      Polluted “Fresh” Waterways
      No Sense Community
