  • Ladies and Gentlemen, it Suddenly Got Cold

ATHENS, Greece (AP) - The Greek government teetered and stock markets around the world plummeted Tuesday after a hard-won European plan to save the Greek economy was suddenly thrown into doubt by the prospect of a public vote.
    This WILL NOT END WELL.
every week they have to bail Greece out.
    What comes next guys?
This isn't a tinderbundle, this is a tindle bundle on fire, and someone's walking to the lay!

No it will not end well. The likelihood is the Greek People will reject everything and we could be looking at the beginnings of the next Great Depression. At the very least it will be the end of the Euro and you will see Greece default on their debts. Who really knows what will come after that. If I did I would be a millionaire in the markets.

      I'm confused.
What does having a "public vote" mean? What will happen?

It is amazing, a country that takes more and more (income, pension, benn-ies) out of the "pot" with less going in, Can't see they have to change/make hard decisions when they see the they are scraping the bottom..
A desire changes nothing, a decision changes some thing's, but determination changes everything.

Surprising how that little anchor on a rope is pulling down the entire ship were clinging to!

I think this is a good thing. The current plan won't work, because without the support of the Greek people, no austerity program will ever actually be carried out, no matter what agreement their government makes today. Three possible outcomes:

          1) People vote "no", Greece defaults (as it should have a long time ago) and the world gets the practical lesson that entitlement cultures are doomed. (Whehter anybody acts on this lesson is another matter, but at least more people will beleive and hopefully prep).

          2) people vote yes, and austerity succeeds and saves the greek fisc and the euro. Well, that's good, I suppose.

          3) people vote yes, and bailouts fail anyway (likely). World gets another lesson that bailouts fail, nothing should be too big to fail, and when we try to prevent failure, the disaster is much worse.

          keep prepping.

It may be selfish for me to say this, but I hope they do pick up the tab for them. My logic is thus: Everybody with an honest eye sees that the world economy has to collapse eventually. At the very least, good Ol' U S of A is going to. Once our dollar (the current world currency) goes down, wether it's through hyperinflation or deflation, the world is going to go haywire. I don't see any way out of a epic economic collapse! And I'm not ready! That's why I hope it will keep on chuggin' along. I want more time... To prepare personally and to convince my beloved friends and family that have their heads in the proverbial sand that all is not well. But this Greece thing is scary! IMhumbleO :)

I believe the answer was they bailed them out again. Or did I hear that incorrectly on the news today?
Yet another LIBERAL country bailed out by Capitalist countries. It may seem harsh, but they really should have let them fail. According to what I heard on the news, Greece promised to restructure their entitlement policies, but lets be honest, that will last one electoral process and then they will be back to doing the same thing again, I WANT I WANT I WANT and dang it, I WANT IT FREE!!

If your not paying for it, you should not be allowed to vote on what gets purchased...

In the past we had a law that said only Property Owners could vote (ie Tax Payers)...
But somewhere and someway (claimed racism because few minorities had property) that law was lost.

If you are living off the government than you can be "bought" by the government to vote the way they want you to vote...
