  • What is a Zombie? ... .. ....?

I've seen this come up. I know I am a bit of a weirdo and I always think folks know what I'm talking about.. I did it again, somebody asked me about a zombie

Well, they don't have to be the night of the living dead type. They can be friends, families, neighbors. Are you ready to fend them off? Even if it means saving yourselves and letting others go?

This is an old twilight zone episode called "the shelter"

Zombies feed off the living, in PAW it's us

It will be the only way to save yourself but until that it worked thru in the ooda loop it will be draining, can't prep for everyone but I do take care of my Mom's needs

I have been trying to use the Zombie angle on people to get them to at least think about prep. I usually get a response like " do you really think there is going to be people trying to my brains". No I don't but I do think that there will be a time that something will happen that will make people be like zombies wandering around looking for food and do what they can to get food. Saying that for the last two years I have been trying to get my family to wake up a bit and at least store some food well that is like talking to a brick wall and on the 22nd we has cake and ice cream for my 2yr old son and once again I tried to talk to them again about prepping and my uncle looked me in the eyes and said " I dint need to I will just come here and live off of you" i then laughed and said Thats why I put up the fence.

I don't think any serious survivalist thinks of Zombies in the classic movie sense. When people move from an environment of modern society to a primitive dog eat dog and worse a human eat human fight of survival you wind up with people who have lost their humanity. If humans drop to the point of eating human flesh they develop just about every disease known to man. Worse yet they tend to lose their minds from both stress and disease. Think of something like Mad Cow disease even worse. People willing to kill other humans to eat them truly become zombies. this is of course an extreme scenario but one that could play out if society falls apart. we are not talking about the dead coming back to life. We are talking about the living losing their humanity and becoming animals. GB

To me a zombie is one with rainbow hair color, tats everwhere, piercings all over the body, stoned out of his mind looking for an easy mark to get his next fix.

I look at those stories mentioned above and agree as well. Imagine what happens when all the tech goes down???? ;)

But what worries me more is when during a SHTF scenario, people with mental and physical disabilities cannot get their medications that help them and or make them have the ability to function in society. Some of those people in the pysch farms scare me the most....

Having them and knowing how to use them are 2 different things ;) But I thought I'd toss this subject out there. Unless we've specifically talked about it (family or friends) when the merde hits the ventelator, I would really have to take a long hard look at how much I got to last how long..

I do store a lot more back for add's, and for buying goodwill down the road and for trade, but lets say the folks at work who buy veggies from me all show up at my house?

                  Just a thought.
