This is why I like being an hour south of Atlanta....at least if this happens it will give me time to prepare......
I have been to South Central LA years ago for a delivery to an antique warehouse. I asked the guy if he was affected because there were still some damage it seemed. He told me after about an hour of this crap, he and several other property owners took action. He said they were "armed to the teeth" and kept them at bay accept when the looters start throwing molitav cocktails and burnt half of his block down.....he said they shot atleast a dozen people, some young teens.....I told him I didnt blame him and he did what was right.
I am not prepared for something like this from a weapons standpoint if it happened this afternoon but I could at least get to a safer place with Mossberg and S&W. . I know I would do what it takes to protect my family and if that means running over people or even shooting them, I believe deep down that I am very capable of this.....and like the age old game....10 points for the fat ones!!!!You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

If it gets like this where I live (rural), then the S has HTF before then, so I hope me and my neighbors would be ready by that time. But that video is sobering and reminds me to be extra-aware and ready whenever in a urban environment. I know there are "preppers" that justify & excuse their living in a big-city urban environment (usually has "job" and "income" in the song-n-dance somewhere), but that video shows the folly...
When it goes down, it will happen FAST and violently...-=> Rmplstlskn <=-

once your on foot in that your dead imho..once you stop and dont have the mental power to push the pedal on the right...your dead.
step one- arm and prepare for boarders
step two -apply pressure to right pedal
step 3- if forward motion is no longer optimal- reverse- repat as nessary
step 4- if automobile goes down or gets bogged down...... "im in fear of my life ,wife and kids life" mode goes into effect.
step 5- toss/spray cs/oc out of truck
step 6- scream wolverines and do the best i can.......as long as i can..until i cant!Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

the sobering fact of life is that people are rioting and looting in one part of the city while the cops are going into the peaceful neighborhoods and taking their weapons, the residents shouldn't have let that happen.Originally posted by Rmplstlskn View PostIf it gets like this where I live (rural), then the S has HTF before then, so I hope me and my neighbors would be ready by that time. Was thinking of this video when I headed out this morning.
All too often I get in the vehicle, take my wallet out of my pocket, put it someplace. Take my pistol out, put it some place, etc.
While we want to keep in the vehicle AND keep the vehicle moving in a sitch like this, we want to be able to make a VERY QUICK EXIT from the vehicle if need be.
Their may not be time to grab a BOB from the trunk. Shooting one of the perps MAY allow you some time to grab a few things and abandon the car, it may not.
Also, leaving the vehicle AFTER shooting someone right near it (paper trail to you, hopefully you weren't foolish enough to put your home addy on the registration papers...) may mean follow up retribution and/or lawsuits, etc.
On the legal side of things- that's something your just gonna have to accept. Become the next Reginald Denny the rest of your life- who is just recently being able to TALK again (18-19 years later), or have you and your family alive but have an expensive court battle and perhaps some jail time.
Kinda comes down to rule #1- EVERYTHING can be replaced except life itself.Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"
Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"
Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

If its that bad I would set the car on fire as I am leaving it....Thanks for the reminder of what happened....time goes by and we tend to forget. I wonder if the people that armed themselves to protect their homes ever got their weapons back....be surprised if they did. The powers that be saw this as a way to disarm people.

Very sobering video. I'm fortunate to live in small farming town. My son, lives in the country about ten miles from my house. That is where I'd go if the need arises. Unfortunately, I still have to go into the big city a couple of times a month to see the V.A. doctors. Not the most ideal place to be if the provervial fertilizer strikes the oscillating ventilator.Pray for Obama, Psalms 109:8. Before you judge me, look it up.
I think my tin foil is too tight.

The police do not have the personel to stop the riots but as soon as the NG shows up the police become the looters and steal your means to protect your family!!! Most of this stems from LEOs not living in the neighborhood that they serve. How many would follow orders to "steal" from someone that will be living nextdoor or knows yo mama ?......Not the easiest way to collect a retirement...

while this may have been the case with a certain segment of leo's from NOLA. I seriuosly doubt it would be wide spread enough during a prolonged "event" to worry about. At that point, we will have bigger fish to fry per say than a few inner city cops that want their "free" stuff.
Lets keep the LEO bashing to facts(aka NOLA) and not speculation on what they all may do .
people could say the same about survivalist and patriots...that all we plan to do is start communes and fight TPTB...think of it that way when you post since there are active mil/LEO's on the forum...and i know we are all patriots and survivalist here.......so never A$$ume what someone may or may not do!Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

Law Enforcement Officers have my upmost respect. How many of us would work in such dire situations for such miniscule pay?? In our politically correct society, Law Enforcement cannot shoot the perpetrators, to do so would lead to their doing jail time. As there appears to be hundreds of more rioters than police, it seems that to try and stop that crowd without lethal force is suicide.
When I watched the first part of the video, I didn't realize it was from 1992. The same actions have been filmed in the so called flash riots, or after game riots that occur frequently. It was definitely sobering. I try to imagine myself in the middle of such chaos and realize how terrifying it would be.
