  • Contagion Movie

Anyone see this yet? What did you think of it.

Saw it tonight, I give it 3 stars on the Post Apoc rating scale (out of 5 stars).

Pros- shows a little bit of realness albeit LATE in regards to people jacking stuff, gubmint lieing to the people, looting, etc.

Cons- Matt Damon, the gal from Shallow Hal that has aged about 50 years in the last 5 Gywneth Paltrow or some stuff IIRC. Wife isn't here to give me help on this right now. Paltrow is the cheating wife that brings the thing home to America- see I TOLD you jezebels would be our darn downfall!!! lol

Serious cons- gubmint saves the day, don't trust "alternate" medicine, don't trust "bloggers" that don't tow the gubmint line. Keep calm, the gubmint will save us, "we all go down together" BS mentality and the usual programming.

But their is some "visual imagery" not normally seen by Americans, set in American cities that is worth seeing. I would probably see it again, maybe with the family.

No "major" disturbing scenes. I'd take my 11 year old boy to it but I'd explain ahead of time what he was going to see and afterwards discuss what was BS and what wasn't.

Their isn't a lot of disaster type movies out there. We don't watch a lot of movies at the theater as it is. I think this is the 2nd movie I've seen this year in the theater.

If it's in your town and not too much of a PITB to go, see it.

I heard another review that summed it up as propaganda to "wash your hands" from hollywood...also the previews on TV basically had the best scenes...

probably wait till it comes out on dvd....

Watched it with the family last night. Not to bad. The timelines are off and the violence down and the power stayed on and cells worked even though the population took a huge hit. The lottery is Bravo Sierra, that has already been predetermined. The support for the convoys and CDC was wayyyy overdone with manpower during a crisis like this IAW our mockups. little things but all in all not to bad. Dont expect heros, babes and explosions that aint what this is about and i'm glad of it

Lowdown- excellent review and very correct.

The only thing I wish to add= was that in the movie, the major part of how the virus was "transmitted" and also it's "adaptability" were found out by a scientist who worked with the virus in a outside firm and was ordered by the US government to burn the virus before the scientist made his discoveries....

Had he done as he was told by the government in the movie, his discoveries would not have been found.... In which case I guarantee that things would have been, much much worse.....

Pretty good movie. Could see something like this happening (to some scale or degree).

Me and The Mrs Owl watched this earlier. She slapped me and said " See why I tell you not to touch grocery carts? And you wonder why our son sits in a cart cover and a high chair cover out in public??"
                And the she repeated.

Pretty good movie. Had a faint realness to it.

                I agree with LD3, 3 stars out of 5.

                Now............onto watch Immortals again!
