CALF. SENATE TRIES TO CRIMINALIZE OPEN FIREARMS CARRY

The bill was sold to the public as a necessary means to combat the fear that Californians allegedly feel when they see a fellow citizen openly carrying an unloaded firearm in public. As the Sacramento Bee reported on this gun paranoia issue, State Senator Kevin de Leon claimed:

Yet another reason I will never willingly go to CA. My wife tells me all the time, "oh we should go there on vacation one day", but I told her that any state that saw fit to disarm me didn't deserve my patronage. After she thought about it a while, she understands, but I still think she wants to go.
