I remember hearing this a lot on shortwave in the 90's. I know they used to play it sometimes during the commercial breaks of my show. I can't remember it verbatim but it went along the lines of
"Last night I had a dream as I slept in my bed....a figure with a tricorn hat stepped out of the midst and said.."
It goes on to talk about a lot of the differences between 1776 and now- "you pay a tax you do not owe... to please the IRS." "You send your sons to slaughter fighting OTHER PEOPLE'S wars...."
It ended with- "is this still the land of the Free, and the home of the brave?"
Anyone have a full transcript of the poem? Please post it if you do.
TIA
Robert
