"It's better to have an Emergency Well Pump and not need it...than to need water, and not have it!"
got that from this page: http://flojak.com/why-prepare-for-emergenciesLast edited by 610Alpha; 08-26-2011, 09:57 AM."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

Looks interesting, kinda like the Bison Pump and I think their is one other similar model on the market.
I was told by our well guy that the Bison wouldn't work with our deep well setup. I was asking him about it with the idea that he would install it for some $$ so I have to believe it was true. Not many folks turn down work now a days.
Before you pull the trigger on anything like this, I would print out the info, instructions, etc. and bring a well guy in and run it by him first.Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"
Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"
Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

This looks like it might be a good means to pump water out of a cistern into say a second-floor filtration system/ positive suction head usage tank for household use sans electricty, The cistern I'm imagining would be large, ground-level or underground, and fed by roof run-off.

I sent an email asking them if I could just buy the pump and they said no. Evidently they use a specially made pipe. I will get a pump somewhere else I think. The sell 50 foot kit of just pipe for $185...when I can go to Lowes and get 50' of PVC for $11...I really don't like gougers. I am all for making a profit but come on. I can buy 800 feet of PVC from Lowes for the same price they are selling 50'. Again I am not anti-capitalism I am anti-gouging of customers. I will pay for quality and have no problem with doing so, I just don't think the PVC pipe they sell is THAT MUCH better in quality. IMO

Admittedly, I haven't done that much research on this, but I've done some in the past. The stated performance specs on this pump seem to be VERY good compared to other manual pumps I've seen. Can someone redirect me to similarly-performing alternatives?
