Yeah the video would definately fall into IDWK zone (I don't want to know zone). I'm thinking it may be something our SAR Unit needs to buy. I did a search on Amazon and found the poo powder & then bio-degradeable bags. You could probably put together your own system much cheaper.

Funny thing, I got a refund and they are not sending me the product saying I can only have one. I've never gotten one

One of those lids that fits on a 5 gallon bucket and cat liter will do the job. Why buy poo powder when cat liter is so cheap.

The wife and I discussed it last night. One senario is that she works at the same school my daughter attends. Due to the abnormally dry weather many water pipes have burst leaving the school and town without power. They have had to ship kids out of town to a church on buses to use the bathroom. The employees share one comode that is a home tank style, the rest are a public tankless setup and are unusable and full usually by the time everyone realizes the water is out. There were many embarrasments on these 3 seperate days. They will be taking these and keeping them near so they can still use the bathroom in a little comfort. While this may not be a "survival" need my women still need this IMO.
I also can add that during tornado cleanups it was sometimes difficult to find a suitable latrine area and while I have one of those popup tent style latrines, disposale can stll be an issue because when we leave at nightfall as required by the emergency law we usually have a load we are hauling out, this would make it a little less messy IMO. I like the product, trash bags and gatoraide bottles will do me and my son just fine or everyone in a pinch but i think for added comfort for the women and physcological cleanup value this is a fairly inexpensive idea.
EXE121 thanks, maybe not a gotta have but good for brownie points from the wife who is getting online with me.

Yeah I think I stick with the bucket and biopdegradeable bag and sawdust, peatmoss for most uses. But I will put some of this on the wish list for use where disposal is a problem.

So how do they say you are to dispose of the finished product? Dumpster or trash can? So then it ends up in a landfill and washes down stream? Just asking.

yep trash can it, doubt thats gonna be a major enviromental issue compared to what i've seen there, dont think my stuff is gonna override all the animal poo round here. The landfills are "supposed" to be in a position where the impact on that is minumal anyway right? This is designed to get it somewhere like that rather than leaving it where it will make a bigger difference and could be a health issue

If I ever get some time off from the two jobs (LOL-yes two jobs when soooo many people are still on unemployment)....

I plan on making an elevated outhouse... ELEVATED? Yes, my plan is to elevate it so I can place a 55gl drum under the "seat". Have a bag of saw dust in the outhouse, once you make your deposit you throw in a handful of sawdust. It will be strongly "encouraged" to try to use this for only solid waste as I will make a soakage pit for urine (read any old Army Field Manual or look at one of my previous posts on this subject). Once the drum is 3/4 full I will remove it from its position, cap it, mark it human manure compost, date it so it has ample time to breakdown AND destroy any pathogens (humanure is more dangerous than your herbivore manure for recycling). Once that done, install a fresh drum and start all over... YEP, thats the plan, now if God could only give me a few more hours in the day.... :)
