Nope Zenith died a while back...last television I bought in 2001 was a sony...heres a little insight into Zenith which is now owned by LG

LG Corp. (Korean: LG 법인) is the second largest South Korean conglomerate company, headquartered in the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.[3] LG produces electronics, chemicals, and telecommunications products and operates subsidiaries like LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Telecom and LG Chem in over 80 countries.

LG Corp. founder Koo In-Hwoi established Lak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corp. in 1947.[4] In 1952, Lak-Hui (pronounced "Lucky", currently LG Chem) became the first Korean company to enter the plastics industry. As the company expanded its plastics business, it established GoldStar Co., Ltd., (currently LG Electronics Inc.) in 1958. Both companies Lucky and Goldstar merged and formed LG.

Goldstar produced South Korea's first radio. Many consumer electronics were sold under the brand name GoldStar, while some other household products (not available outside South Korea) were sold under the brand name of Lucky. The Lucky brand was famous for its line of hygiene products such as soaps and HiTi laundry detergents, but most associated with its Lucky and Perioe toothpaste.

In 1995, to better compete in the Western market, the company was renamed "LG", the abbreviation of "Lucky Goldstar". More recently, the company associates the letters LG with the company tagline "Life's Good" This tagline came from Australia, where many of the products are tested first by LG. Since 2009, LG also owns the domain name LG.com.[5]

In 1996 LG formed a joint venture with IBM.This joint venture was later terminated.[6]

In 1997, the Asian financial crisis occurred in Malaysia. Due to the crisis, LG Group and SK Group each took over equal stakes of United Malays National Organization[citation needed].

On 1 April 2000, LG Chemical was split into three separate companies, namely LGCI, LG Chem and LG Household & Health Care. Later, in July 2007, LG Chem merged with LG Petrochemical[7]

Since 2001 LG has two joint ventures with Royal Philips Electronics: LG Philips Display and LG.Philips LCD, but Philips sold off its shares in late 2008.[8] In 2005, LG entered into a joint venture with Nortel Networks, creating LG-Nortel Co. Ltd.

LG has a joint venture with Hitachi, Hitachi-LG Data Storage, which makes optical data storage devices like DVD-ROM drives, CD writers, etc. LG acquired American television manufacturing company Zenith in 1999.

LG has owned the LG Twins baseball club in Seoul, South Korea since 1989.

The stocks are separated into four parts, 52% are owned by the CEO, 22% are distributed and the other 26% are owned by the next generation CEO who's currently attending a university in Orlando, Florida getting her degree in business and Recording Arts.[clarification needed]

Commodore Business Machines, rebranded products of GoldStar, Philips, Magnavox mostly monitor displays

So it's like everything is owned by someone else..They call it LG USA but its a Korean Company...unless you buy it from a small mom and pop business that actually makes it in there own shop...you never get a truly made in America product anymore...

Well here is what I found .. LG acquired American television manufacturing company Zenith in 1999....I'm sure they put there stuff into Zeniths...I can't specifically say cause I don't work there..all I guess I'm saying is it's hard to find American let alone buy it, when you can actually find it

LOL...I have to really keep up these days myself...everything changes with the click of a keystroke today...and almost 90% of the major corparations are foreign owned so like I said unless its a mom and pop business where they build it right there in ther own shop..you never really get 100% American made anymore

WiseOwl, I wasn't directing the rant at ANYONE in particular except a dealer at a gun show that was selling American Flags made in China and defending that fact.

I understand making ends meet as best as you can and sometimes it's not an option to buy strictly American. And more often than not, I also have to buy stuff made in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Honduras, etc. But when it comes down to it, I will not, cannot buy our national symbol that was made in a factory overseas. I just can't do it. Pride in my country more than anything won't let me do it. I wholeheartedly believe American flags should be made in America by Americans. And the simple fact a dealer was proud to point out he kept a Chinese worker in a job because he was selling American flags made in China? Audacity is a word I might use.

So don't take my post as anything more than a rant against a person serving the all mighty dollar. A sunshine patriot appealing to a certain crowd where he knows he can make a buck or two. That's what the rant was about.

I belong to five different veterans organizations, one of which I represent (which shall remain nameless) each year for Memorial Day, placing American flags on the graves of veterans buried in our small town cemetary. When I noticed that said flags were made in China, I distinctly made my displeasure known at the next meeting. Some of the members couldn't see why I was so angry, to them it was all about saving the Post treasury money! Unbelievable!!! To think that certain VETERANS would think that lowly of their departed Brothers and Sisters.
Needless to say, I made a motion, which was seconded and passed, to buy only American made flags, no matter the cost.
I'm still thinking about quitting that particular organization, especially after they had Al Frankin as cover-boy on their national magazine last year.

Grand I totally understand where you were coming from, my post wasnt really directed at anyone, just the post that said "explanation" was directed to explain the post that warranted it. I think that not only is it sad and pathetic that Old Glory is being made in China but its unbelievable that we allow that. When I read your post the other day, I discussed that with a couple of other people, 2 military, and it was like the wind was taken out of our sails. If there is one thing that we can not allow to be made somewhere else, its out own flag. The one thing that represents us over baseball, apple pie, etc.

I just dont understand folks that want to poke at people that dont buy all american goods and products. If I could I would.
