What I done was place my wire around the gutters and that works quite well for me. I used a G5RV and made it into a U shape around the house and gutters. For the side of the house that doesn't have gutters, I put the wire up around the shingles of the roof. You can't see it and its totally hidden. That way, I can tune 10-80 meters and I have even got into Europe when the bands were open. My dual-band J-pole I spay painted it with earth colors and you can't see it unless you are really looking for it.

Did you stand the wire off the gutters? How hi up is your wire? I got a dual band j-pole and painted it flat black. It's fairly unobtrusive, the dark background works!

I placed the wire under the gutters, between the gutters and house. The wire is up about 10 to 11ft. My dual-band antenna is a Arrow J-pole and spay painted light brown and forest green. The pole I have it on is a fibgerglass green pole that the military uses for tent poles. They are 4ft long and interconnect.

ok, I was just wondering about how the wire interacts with the gutter. It probably affects your signal some, but as long as you are communicating, who cares!
