Any validity to this?

I know some of these conspiracy sites are very tight on the tin foil headware but ya never know with the knuckleheads in DC....and this Super Congress....is that a joke? 12 people hold all the power? Not good at all!

Probably about the time for a rotation into the middle east. Ignore the fact they aren't painted for the desert. About half or more of the vehicles over there don't sport any kind of desert paint job. I mean, it's kind of hard to conceal a 100 vehicle convoy from Ackmehd trying to set off IEDs, so the Army gave up on trying to paint vehicles every time they got sent to a place that's sandy and then repaint them when they returned.

And by far, rail is still the most efficient way of moving large amounts of military vehicles. Most Army posts still have rail lines and they use them to send their vehicles to a port where it's sent overseas. I would imagine they are heading for one of the west coast ports.

I saw a convoy today of my old Reserve Unit coming back from AT so that is another reason why you might see troop movement.

Meh, common sense. I mean, more than just a few folks with cell phone cameras are going to see the troops starting to concentrate around the large urban areas and not in back country Oregon. And large urban areas will have to be secured first. Someone would have noticed it by now and passed it on.

Furthermore, those were almost all support vehicles. You don't start rolling in to secure urban areas without armor. That's a hard earned lesson from Iraq.

But it is interesting to see those huge trains loaded down like that.

2 months ago the 45th ID was inplaced in Afganistan and took over so the timing is about right for the other equipment to return on the boats. Also the National Guard and Reserve annual training exercises are winding down from the summer so that all the ones lured into it by the GI bill can get back to college. I got a similar e-mail from a guy the other day. The amazing thing is he was a 20 yr full time and reservist retiree. I had to tell him the same and to pull off the tin foil too. I think the heat is getting to folks.
BTW rail operations are not that fun to do.

I read a similar post on http://www.shtfplan.com/ and at first considered it sensationalism. How do you know what is real and what is simply paranoid hype. I ask myself how such a massive transport could occur without someone reporting it on one of the 24 hours new channels? On the other hand, a part of me believes it might be true.

I only saw one picture of a Stryker with the howitzer mounted THREE TIMES ... Same Stryker !
I saw a disproportionate number of ambulances ... perhaps "one in ten" (or 20) ...
I did not see ANY bull-dozers ...
I did not see a single MBT (tank) ... no tracked vehicles of any sort.
I did not see *ANY* MRAPs, of any sort ... NO IED hardenned vehicles ... not one.
All the larger (flatbed) haulers were empty.
There were not nearly enough ISO containers to indicate an active operation.
Prolly 80% were some "utility" config of Hummers ... *OLD* Hummers ... not hardenned.
NONE of the hummers was in "Technical Config" (no turrets or targeting sensors).
Lots of trailers ... especially fuel and/or water tanks.

Speculation?
These vehicles are (pick one):
1) Normal asset shuffling of National Guard basic utility assets.
2) Headed to Somalia, or Japan, as a form of humanitarian logistical assistance.
3) Older "junk" being sold to a friendly nation (like Austrailia).
4) These vehicles are headed for contract modernizattion upgrades.
5) These vehicles are to be canibalized to service newer vehicles.
6) May be a gift to the Nat'l police forces of Iraq or A-stan.
7) *might* be used to conquer some huge nazi militia (that is getting too big).

I choose "number one" ...

There is nothing in the PNW to "surpress" ... These assets are not supression oriented, anyway.
There is not nearly enough variety (of assets/supplies) to constitute even part of an active combat force.

These vehicles might (just maybe) have been re-positionned to deal with a potential strategic threat (Asian Jet-Stream), as the result of some intercepted strategic contingency plans, on the part of China. To provide aid to fallout victims, in the event of a "Dirty Jet-stream" attack, or some "ocean-nuke generated fallout (contingency).
I DOUBT IT VERY MUCH !!!

Looks like antiquated, non-combat, logistical traffic, to me ... maybe domestic, maybe bound for some other country.

*IF* something "big" was up, we would be seeing lots of attendant ISO containers, dozers, sensor turrets, and fully loaded vehicles ... I am not seeing any of that. This is boring surplus hardware, looking for a better home ... period.

Ok, explained it the nice way, now:
SF and all them other tabbed folks can't even fart sideways without the news being all over them much less any major regular movements not being reported. Everytime we moved our unimportant unit some idjit was out there recording us wether it was by rail, ship or air. ... Marijuana growing operations, in the PNW National Parks and Reserves areas, have proliferated to the point that entire eco-systems are threatenned and many hikers and campers have been threatenned and intimidated ... so ...
... just maybe ... as logistical transport, for security and clearing operations, in those areas ... MAY-be ...

Just moving equipment for one reason or another. Why prepare for population control, or whatever, in Oregon? Texas or Arizona would make more sense.

That being said. I once worked for a gentleman who believed in conspiracies, troop movements, FEMA camps, black helicopters and jet contrails. He owned a survivalist business.
The jet contrails supposedly contained some sort of chemicals. There were alot of pictures of contrails. I didn't put that much faith in any of this. I wasn't wearing any tin foil on my head. This was in 1997. About two months ago I see news reports that the government had been doing experiments that involved dropping chemicals through jet contrails.
I still don't wear foil hats, but I keep some foil handy.
