Preppers become world-wide leaders

I would like to think that in a SHTF moment, everyone would come together, and peacefully work towards a common goal.

However, I have seen the dark side of un-rulely mobs a few times, almost being trampled twice! Was it in a riot or civil unrest???

No, both times were at "Black Friday Sales" after Thanksgiving Day of all things! I can only guess how these thugs would act when they are REALLY hungry!

Also, I don't know how many wealthy preppers we have here, but for myself, I can afford to put up supplies for my family and maybe a little for my folks and siblings, but then my wallet runs dry.

I think we would all LIKE to believe that, unfortunately, humans have shown us time and time again that we are absolutely no different than any other primate. When it comes down to a panic situation, there will be precisely zero logic. Like monkies on a rampage, the ignorant will swarm over the educated few to strip them of anything of value they may have (food, cothing, weapons). The prepared few are in a vast minority. There will be 20, or maybe even 100 people coming for every 1 person who's set up and prepared. They won't care that you have the ability show them how to make food. They're hungry, ignorant, and you have food NOW.

We don't have to look far to see this in action even today. Heck, even look at the looting and rioting that is so quick to happen after a hurricane, or even a ballgame. There's no denying that at the first and slightest hint of anarchy, the animal mind takes over the masses. They don't care who the smartest is, they will follow whoever is apparently the strongest.

The rebuilding of society is going to happen in phases, and the first phase is going to be brutal, and bloody. Humans have proven this time and again. Possibly for as long as several generations the intelligent people who grow the crops, tend the livestock, and rebuild society will also have to have a significant militia to protect themselves from the ignorant masses that wish only to strip you of your resources so they can eat NOW. Having weaponry and having the knowledge and will to use it is going to be absolutely key to your survival. I know I sound like a pessimist, but I consider myself a realist. I've seen how humans act. We're remarkably predictable creatures.

Humans are civil when there are plenty of resources, but only when there are plenty of resources. When the resources disappear (because the majority no longer know how to produce them) animal instinct will rule.

This isn't the fable of the ant colony that put food away for the winter while the grasshopper played, this is the story of the grasshopper that put food away for the winter while the massive ant colony played, and when winter hits, those ants aren't going to care if the grasshopper can show them how to put food away next year. They want the grasshopper's food now, and then they'll consume the grasshopper.

The government is trying to get everyone into the "we will take care of you" mentality. That way the government has control over you. If a person is not prepared and has to work for food to take care of his family, the government will use these people for most anything, including cannon fodder to expand their domain and control.

Besides, I really don't want to be a "world leader" or even a community leader. Spent waaaay too many years learning how to stay below the "radar" so to speak. I have skills I will certainly contribute that may help others, but "leaders" are like nails, they usually get hammered down one way or the other. JMO
