  • Chinese working on EMP weapons.

I just read this article and thought it would be a good converstion piece. This is something all of us need to prepare for. World War 3 may be faught with sticks and stones or it may be over before it starts with a EMP first strike.

When an emergency is upon you the time for preparation has past.

Found it on Drudge Report tonight so it should get wide coverage. A EMP weapon will make things ugly fast.
"If you're not shootin; you should be loadin; If you're not loadin; you should be movin; If you'not movin; someone's gonna cut your head off and put it on a stick."

Logically... Destroy everything and contaminate it with a thermo-nuclear or remove the "parasites" slowly but surely with EMP, chem-bio and then take the booty? If I was Chinese, I know what I would be working towards...

          LOL

I am glad to see EMP technology getting some press. Maybe it will open a few more eyes to a possible future.

There is a group here in the US called EMPact America that has been trying to spread awareness of the very real possibility of EMP attacks for awhile. They are trying to get an entire city to stockpile the necessities required for every citizen within their city to be prepared in case of an EMP attack in their area. I don't remember their website if y'all want to learn more about them, but I'm sure you can google them and it will come up.

Could you imagine an EMP attack right now? The heat wave with temps over 110 degrees would make a great addition to an EMP attack!!

No joke WAB. It was 125 degrees in my car when I got off work yesterday. My cheapness and unwillingness to get my AC fixed earlier in the year is liable to end up killing me.

Yeah they drop one in the dead of summer or winter and there goes a lot of folks....thinning the herd some would say...but American Gun Owners are still the largest "armed" force in the world...I like our chances because EMP's dont make guns unusable.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

If the Chinese are announcing this, that usually means they already have it. China has been a nuclear power for a number of years so the technology needed to create a EMP weapon has long been in Chinese hands. Really though, even the smallest nuclear capable nation with decent satellite launch/ballistic missile technology can produce such weapons. Pakistan, Iran, N. Korea, etc..

Naturally, the Russians have had such a capability for years too.

That is why it will be good to get a vehicle that pre-dates most of this electronic equipment. Also finding older farming equipement with similar ideas. Found an older model tiller and it runs great.

What will happen to the 104 nuclear power plants in the US if we are hit with an EMP attack?
Grid down is a given. Are the controls hardened? Are the emergency generators hardened?
This is an aspect of an EMP attack I have not seen discussed.

It was 109.5 degrees on my back porch at 4pm.

This is an important question you have brought up in this thread! I would be willing to bet that most of the VIP bunkers and the usual elites have had all of their vehicles, equipment, and structures harden to withstand this type of attack. It is a relatively costly undertaking but the elites have the money.

As for the rest of the masses, why would anybody spend money on things like infrastructure related to nuclear plants, hydro-electric plants, etc etc. I do remember that most nuclear plants have to have some hardening of their structures and specialized equipment due to the radiation of the reactors. For example, copper cable surrounded by rubber casing(coaxial??) insread of fiber optic lines to negate the interference.

But all the transistors, traffic lights, communications grinds, etc etc are all going to be in for a bad day.

This is in response to Monel.
