I think this is a test of sorts. How will "The People" react to a shutdown? Both sides are blaming the other, and the bias in the article seems to favor the bias indicated by the nation. The Point as it were, is to demonstrate how terrible things will be if we don't raise taxes.
FEDERAL LEVEL:
we aren't going anywhere cause RINOS won't raise taxes
MINNESOTA LEVEL:
We shut down because RINOS won't raise taxes.
This is high stakes chicken folks! And if I was in MN right now, I'd be keepin' my powder dry and nearby.

Might keep some water handy too. Seems the first place they cut when they go for budget reduction is fire protection. Then it's cops. They will hang us out to dry before they even think about cutting the cost of actual government. Lay off a few clerks at the capital? Are you nuts? They'll fire every teacher in the state first.
