Gangs shut down Chicago's Lakefront

Reading the Editorial Section of my local newspaper, I was surprised to learn that Rohn Emanual shut down the lakefront to families due to gang violence.

Apparently, Emanual's office gave the excuse for closing the lakefront as heat. The officials want to keep the gang violence quiet. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/06/...-avenue-beach/

Once again, tonite saw over a THOUSAND gang bangers at North Ave beach causing disruption. Car 6 on scene in the middle of it, calling for cars.Groups of 50-100 bangers fighting. Yuppies running from the beach. Dugan called for cars on citywide to respond to the scene. And its only Monday night.

Has anyone heard this anywhere? Is this type of violence now acceptable? Apparently these gang members had absolutely no reason except to cause trouble.

The same Gang banger idiots that are doing the flash-mob robberies in downtown Chicago caused the closure. WAIT- you didn't hear about those either??
They've been going on for the better part of a year now. About 30-40 bangers hook up on a social network, set a time and place then rob and steal as much as they can while roughing up anyone who resists.
The media until recently have totally ignored the story. Several conventions have pulled out of Chicago due to the violence and the MLB has warned thier teams to be hyper vigilant while visiting the city.
But thank goodness our politicians have decided to vote down concealed carry for us yet again. Just think of the carnage that would occur if citizens could defend themselves. (GAG)
Chicago's top cop even came out and said that Federal gun laws are RACIST because they allow illegal firearms to be sold to the gang bangers.
I wouldnt wish Chicago on anyone except for maybe Iran or North Korea, or this state for that matter. Can't wait until I can move out of here.

The gangs know that the police can't or won't do a thing to stop them. If any of them got hurt or killed, certain elements in the city of Chicago would call the police racist and riot. I'm so sick of police not being able to do their jobs because they will be labeled racist and either go to jail or loose their jobs. I hate this political correct world.

This article made drudge today (prolly where you got it right? ;) ) and I think to myself, thank goodness they got all that gun control!
