There are other variation of this that can turn everything including sewage and even biomass like wood, into fuel(both diesel and gasoline, but mostly diesel).

I'd say that in a TEOTWAWKI situation, this would be a good thing to build or to have built to keep the cars running. Could even become a small business for some of those broke preppers out there(I know ya'll are out there!) You could either build these units and sell them or make small quantities of fuel and sell it to your friends and neighbors for half the price of pump diesel!
