Lets make a snare. The snare today wil be a surelock snare. first thing you want to do is put your cable through the lock. The cable we are using is 5/64 7x7 this cable is good for almost every animal in the US. The lock is sized for 3/32 which is not a problem it will actually be faster this way.

now you put a aluminum stop on the end sticking through the lock. you can use a swager but you dont need one. you can hammer on the stop with a hammer against a chunk of iron/anvil. if you dont want to use aluminum stops you can get some small nuts and anneal them and use those.
