  • Lurkers and zero posters (more than) Fair warning

Mentioned almost 2 months ago now that we would be going to a "minimum 10 post count" to view the Registered Members forum wherein all the S & P training videos and the contest videos are hosted.

It's already set up wherein people that aren't registered users and logged in cannot view it. You can't even SEE the subforum if your not a registered user and logged in. However as I mentioned months ago now, we will be going to a minimum 10 post count to view" type setup on that subforum.

So consider this the 2nd warning on that end.

It's not hard to rack up 10 posts.... Come on

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

IMO It should be 10 per month that would keep people in the game. If your on this site you are looking for ideas, have questions or need answers. Its time to put fingers to the keyboards folks. Take advantage of your resources.
When an emergency is upon you the time for preparation has past.

I was really excited to find this preparedness site with Christians but honestly it feels like hostile territory. Perhaps others feel the same & that's why they don't post. Or it could be that 13 years of homeschooling & two teen daughters currently in the house have completely warped my mind. Probably the latter. :)
At any rate, I won't post here again. I appreciate those of you who were welcoming & kind, it's nice to see God's people being who He called them to be even when no one knows who they are IRL. I wish you all the best in what God has called you to do. Humbly, Becky

Becklyn, I sorry that you're leaving but I don't understand why you feel that this is hostile territory. Just because the mods want you to get 10 posts to access a small section?

Heck, I got booted off ANOTHER FORUM for not posting enough and I'm a blabbermouth.:D

Sad to see you go becky. But this thread is not a "good bye" thread. If you wish you may start a new thread, so you may say your good byes there.

BeckyinTx account has been deleted per her request. To be CRYSTAL CLEAR HERE FOLKS- SHE WAS NOT "BANNED."

Folks I'm not right all the time, don't claim to be. Instead of getting all pissy when several others disagree with you, just try to learn from the situation. I mean crap, I just bought a $200. dehydrator to dry fruits at home just because I thought- "well o.k. this gal in Texas claims her stuff is lasting a long time this way, I'll try it to, maybe it was a fluke that our home dried stuff didn't store well first couple times we tried." Even though it was clear to me she was talking about one thing (short term) and I was talking about another (long term).

Guys and gals, one thing we absolutely will NOT tolerate is the "I'm leaving, please catch me at the door" BS drama. In just under a year, this is literally the FIRST incidence of that. I've seen so many people do that on the net over the years, including one well known guy on Frugals do that on at least 3 occasions. When you do that, you look like a joke, it's a little drama queen "Oh please catch me at the door and tell me I'm special and ask me not to leave" BS. When you throw Christianity into it as BeckyinTX did, it's even more ridiculous. Did the Lord teach us not to disagree with one another? He made us, He knows us, He knew we would disagree. That's probably why the Lord taught us how to reconcile in Matthew 18:15.

Anywhoo, back to the regular programming, already in progress ;)

I am new to the Forum, and I have to admit i am fan of this policy. I tend to Lurk a lot, and this will help get me out of that bad habit. Everyone has some skill/knowledge/trade that can help someone else.

We also need to remember that it is sometimes very difficult to "read" tone. Moving the inflection from one word to another can change the entire meaning of a sentence, for example:

"You made THAT?" inflection on the ITEM you made - Someone could be insulting the item you made, or they could be terribly impressed that you made something so fantastic.
"YOU made that?" inflection on YOU - They could be insulting you or very impressed by you.
You MADE that?" inflection on MADE - They might be insulting your skills, or they could be floored that something so professional looking was hand made.

I have to admit, I thought I might have stepped on some toes with a thread I started and thought maybe this isn't the place for me. But, the truth is, there is a wealth of information here and I NEED it to protect my family as best I can. So, if ya'll want rid of me, you will have to ban me. ;)

                  im confused now...LOL

i loved the old internet ....
                  youd read...

" look i made a 650 yard shot after running 3 miles with 150 lbs of gear in 5 minutes....and i was un supported, with iron sights, in the fog, with the sun in my eyes.."

                  you'd reply
" You FOS, poser, i read your other thread where you said you are 54 and just bought your 1st rifle...."

and everyone would love you(expect the liars)

                  Now days..

                  your reply better be

( the above is a joke, a sarcasm for those who are humor impared)

Funny how people read what they want to read.....its sad that we have to explain we are being funny or an example is a joke.

LMAO. Yep, that about sums it up Protus....

And yes, people can "read" whatever they want into what you write. Some things are crystal clear though- those that use equipment designed for the task instead of third world methods are "spoiled." Someone who has very little time on their hands, has lived off the grid for a dozen years using wood solely to heat his home that whole time has "learned nothing" because he chooses to buy a log splitter to save time and energy putting up wood.

Some things we can guess or THINK people are saying, some things are crystal clear.

                        multicam sucks.

                        see crystal clear...

I belive that the color choices ,along with the pattern effectively disrupts the human shilolette at distances that other camo patterns fail at. That said it is wise fo rthe person to effectively test and evaluate , each pattern that is suitable for their AO, while maintaing a openmind to the technological advances that modern textiles have afforded to companies that are advancing the science of human camoflauge.....

                        not so crystal clear...

                        sorry had to LOL

( yes the LOL means it was a joke,kinda...)

I am still scratching my head and trying to figure out why anyone would be offended by the thoughts in the original post to this thread.

.......and use caution here Protus, I still have that copy of you wearing multi cam and holding THAT book. :)

@knocky - it wasn't the original post in this thread it was an entirely different thread that made her feel like she needed to leave.
