I read about it on Sipsey Street Irregulars, Kinda made me pause a little bit. I've often wondered how 'they' would react in a post-waco world, and this may be it. Don't do the dirty work, pass it off to the locals! The locals will be the ones with kids/wives/kin in the line of fire. They'll fight to keep them safe.

I was staying at one of those hotels with long stay suites for about 2 weeks at an area with a hugh military, law enforcement, Federal Agencies influence. One morning I was looking out my window and saw these big buses pull up to the front of the hotel. There were 4 buses, and coming out of the hotel with hundreds of the most buff men I've ever seen - anywhere! They all had various identifying clothing - i.e. FBI, ATF, Sheriff, etc etc. These guys made Arnold look weak. In all honesty it wasn't until after I got over looking at the eye candy, that I wondered exactly what the heck was going on?

I watched this happen every single morning. When Saturday came, I went out to walk my dogs and ran into a group of them doing push ups - etc - on the back of the property. I just went up to one of them and told them what I'd see and ask them what they were doing - seems they were all there at a Homeland Security Training Facility for a 8 week program. Seems these training class was conducted year round and any agency - local - county - state - or fed could send candidates.

This was during the final year of Bush's Presidency and I was very pleased and felt very safe - I was still asleep. Now, the very thought scares me to death. Janet Napolitano is not my idea of a political appointee with knowledge enough to do the job, much less the ethics necessary not to turn these guys into the someone private police force.

Then you have the guys themselves. As I said, they were buff. In fact, if one of them had on a uniform and told me to do something, I'd do it and ask questions later. These guys were obviously choses for this characteristic.

I guess I'm naive, but I used to think the FBI, CIA, Police and Sheriff were the good guys and I could trust them - now - I don't know anymore. The officers I know are all wonderful and seem to have outstanding character, why would they support the federal government against their own citizens?

One of the reasons, besides voting for the best of the worst options, I no longer give a rats butt about politics... BOTH parties are the same and are taking us to a police state... Bush (both of them) was just as bad in many ways as Obama or Clinton. Now is the time to NOT be a proud NAIL... cuz' the hammer is coming.

It will come rushing in with international turmoil and domestic economic collapse...

Some truth, some hype.
Here part of it. LEOs are required to attend a certain amount of training yearly. This training is funded by someone. Right now in this economic time the feds are the only ones with training money so yes it is geared toward "federally dominated model". Some of which is yes homeland stuff which as we have seen time and time again is control of large populations and or smaller groups of crazies. Wether you agree with the handling of it or the policies used or the dumb stuff done by both sides it always comes down to 2 forces in opposition in numbers. I have sat thru a bunch of training which was utter Bravo Sierra but it got me my needed hours to maintain the credentials and get paid for the food on the table. This guy is expressing disgust at this very thing in this paragraph he posted. The training probably didnt help him in his job at all.
@ Monkeybird - As far as the big guys who look like they can make you do stuff- well yes, thats what they are supposed to be and do. Can't have them saying "pretty please with a cherry on top will you stop it?" while terrorist and gang bangers reload now can we?
The days of weak and fat and poorly educated are dying in some areas of LEOs, thanks goodness because it's been embarasing. Same goes for the National Guard. I'm a proud American and disgusted by piss poor examples of "preofesionals" who can not meet the needed physical and mental requirements of the job just because(they were related to someone, someones buddy, a good ole boy, of a needed race, color, gender etc etc etc)
There are good and bad in any organization and this especially holds true to Military and LEO Units. They draw the worst and the best for the same reasons.
It's a double edged sword, you want the best for your pre SHTF security, yet you fear the best because of your post SHTF security especially when you think they will not be on your side.
There are alot of LEOs in this realm of survivalism too. The same things you think you see, they and Soldiers see, 10fold in their daily lives. They are not the bubba gump ranger ricks runnin in the woods with their rifles on saturdays ready to fight the goberment, they are profesionals who just want to make it thru the bad stuff too in my experience.
One thing to remember is that they are not the ones making laws, policy etc and there are a whole lot more folks that are not LEOS that can change things if they decide to, ask Egypt, American Revolutionaries from 1770s, and whole a whole slew of history that could be listed here too.
