  • Another War

More than 112 Tomahawk cruise missiles struck over 20 targets inside Libya today in the opening phase of an international military operation the Pentagon said was aimed at stopping attacks led by Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and enforcing a U.N.-backed no-fly zone.

President Obama, speaking from Brazil shortly after he authorized the missile attacks, said they were part of a "limited military action" to protect the Libyan people.

"I want the American people to know that the use of force is not our first choice and it's not a choice I make lightly," Obama said. "But we cannot stand idly by when a tyrant tells his people that there will be no mercy."

The first air strikes, in what is being called Operation Odyssey Dawn, were launched from a mix of U.S. surface ships and one British submarine in the Mediterranean Sea at 2 p.m. ET, Vice Adm. William E. Gortney told reporters at a Pentagon briefing.

Its all good if the left wing does it, never the right wing.

Hussein can do no wrong in the eyes of CNN, MSNBC, and ABC...

He failed at pretty much all his campaign BS promises, yet he is going to start he re-election campaign in around 7 months...

He most likely will be re-elected, because there are more welfare and union workers than there are hard working right wingers.

All I can do is keep stockpiling my preps, because he is certainly crushing America from within financially.

AND NOT ONE HUSSEIN SUPPORTER WILL GET ONE OUNCE OF PREPS OR PITY FROM ME WHEN IT DOES!

          true...

I personally wouldn't get involved in this. The thing America should do is bring all our troops home because when SHTF things are going to get worse.

My position has always been - Bomb the $%^% out of your enemy, declair victory and come home - If they cause more problems you do it again

There are very few problems that can't be solved by a B-2

Still, this Libya thing is an internal struggle and none of our buisness

              This is the Frenchies fight.

They're the ones that use Libya's light sweet crude so why are bailing their sorry butts out?

What does a Tomahawk cost? A million or so? We just launched a 112 million dollars worth of hardware for France not to mention all the money spent on ships and aircraft.

All for a country that doesn't even like us.

Where are we getting the money for this war? The Chinese? That's just great!

Gov't IS the problem.. none of this matters my brothers. Keep your nose to the grind stone, keep prepping, keep amasing knowledge, stay right with God and in the end we will be ok..

That our politicians are unbearable hypocrites without borders is no secret. After all, Gaddafi himself was among Europe’s best arms clients for a long time having to recycle billions of petrodollars into something tangible. It is these very same politicians (wink wink Bunga Bunga) that are now blasting him, and offering their airbases to launch offensive campaigns from. One person who however never misses an opportunity to expose each and every form of hypocrisy is Nigel Farage who takes Gollum-lookalike and European Council president Herman van Rompuy to the toolshed and anihilates him for his sycophantic attempts to appear larger than life by pandering to none other than now uber-despised dictator Colonel Gaddafi. And naturally he does it in his own very inimitable and always highly entertaining and humiliating style.

This entire thing is disgusting. The hyprocrisy is common among today's world leaders. I wish someone would "tell it like it is" regarding American Foreign Policy - or lack of it.

If I were President, the troops would be home from Iraq and Afghanistan - TODAY. Enough is enough - not one of those countries is worth a single drop of American Blood.

the government was going to shut down last week because we were broke, but they found money to fund another war because in 2 weeks, America will be there alone.

PS, at least all the old retired colonels, majors and generals have a job again second guessing the strategy for the media, just like when we went into Iraq.

My take on the middle east Islamic run countries is this... We're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't.

                      If We Don't
If we don't do something then we're the super power that doesn't care.

                      If We Do
If we do go in then we're an imperialist nation, we're anti-muslim or we're pushing our ways on them.
                      -also-
We throw out the last group of people and then! They'll be replaced by another group that is just as bad and if not worse. Islamic law will be stronger and eventually everyone knows that America will be the blame for that. Much like Saddam and the Taliban.
                      -also-
We spend billions of dollars for people that hate us and will always hate us. This isn't a WW2 Japanese and American policy. I honestly believe they hate us and will continue to hate us despite what we give them. It is quite possible that people could use our generosity to destroy us.
                      -also-
We take our eyes off of the real threat like Iran.

When Obama gave his statement, the words sounded exactly the same as Bush. There surely is a double standard in the main stream media.

I firmly believe that hussein is helping the rebels so that a more radical islamic regime will be in charge of Lybia. There are MANY countries in the world where the dictators are killing there people every day, yet the US doesn't get involved.
I keep telling myself that someday I won't have to look at his scowling smug face, and that is a happy thought.

Why can't the few that are in charge of this country hear the voices of the millions that are mad as hell and are about to get to that point when they are not going to take it any more.
