  • Air Absorbers?

When you open the pouch for the air absorbers, what do you do with them when not putting them in mylar bags?

Reseal the pouch so you don't waste them.

I've tried various suggestions for re-sealing the O2 absorbers. Most of them DO NOT WORK, or at least not for me. The only thing I've found that does work, is to close the package with a clamp that you can buy, put them in a food saver bag, and seal the bag. That will work. But I'm not sure for how long.

Yeah, I went to a dollar store and bought some of those heat packets. I like them more because their individually wrapped.

What about tossing them in a mylar bag and sealing it?

I use the smallest mason jar I can fit them in.

I'm missing something - what does a heat pack from the dollar store do?

It's the info you get from the people that packed six buckets on the net and are now officially food storage experts. I'm sure 2682 read that somewhere on the net where some "expert" that packed six buckets wrote that putting a non food grade plastic that is thinner and designed to bio degrade in a short period of time in with your food (hand warmer BS) is supposedly a great way to store your food. One of the "dirty little secrets" as one video calls it.

Let's stick to reality here folks, their is enough BS in on the "fiction forums" out there that has translated over into quasi truth in some people's minds.

You want to do dumb stuff with your food storage- honestly that doesn't bother me. I have put up food for well over 2 decades, both privately and professionally. I KNOW what works and what doesn't. However on a forum where "I" pay the bills, I'm not gonna let retarded half arse ideas rule the day.

This isn't a game folks, your going to probably need that food in storage one day. Cutting corners with bogus techniques is threatening your family's future survival.

Their is plenty of REAL RESOURCES right here telling and SHOWING you how to pack correctly like the professionals do. Look at "The Basics" forum. I'm done with the food packing fantasy posts.
