Calories based on activity level for your body weight and fitness level. At least this is what I am trying to do.
In other words say I'm doing heavy to moderate work/activity and I know I need 2000 calories to do this and my, lightweight, girl uses around 1700 and my, larger and more muscular than me, boy uses 2200 and my wife, who say might be physically unable to do this type of work, uses 800 then I add them up and try and guess what we will need for that day.
I know there will be thoughts and sharpshooting on food groups and the protein, carbs etc from fitness experts but I've seen what a little skinny guy can do on handful of rice in a fight for years at a time in many a country!
These are just hypothetical numbers for show and tell so don't beat me up math and fitness gurus!Knowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

There is no one food that will sustain you forever without issues. Store some of everything and be diverse. The protein bars are great in the pack but not a cooked meal subsitute. What would you mix them shakes with?Originally posted by 2682nscovell View PostYeah, I was wondering if protein bars and whey shakes would be a good. They pack in soooo much energy for being so small. The only issue would be they would eventually start causing problems in your liver.Knowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

I personally have a stockpile of my daughter's child nutrient drinks (I think it is Parent's Choice). They have a 2 year shelf life. It will NOT be a food supplement, rather a food compliment to make sure me being unexperienced as a nutritionist, that she and my wife get adequate nutrition through hard times. We crack open 3 bottles a couple times a week and that is our lunch drink, to help us keep rotating it. But as the several hollywood stars have found out the hard way, do NOT rely on an all fluid diet for prolonged periods, it will cause a ton of damage to your intestines.
