I am in the belief with Benn Gleck. 5 years is very optimistic in my minds eye.....

I hope we have 5 years. But with all the turmoil in the world and also our solar system (thank you monkeybird for your post in the transportation section) and the solar activity, I feel that 5 years is a serious hope. But in all cases I hope that my predictions are wrong.

My concern revolves around the screwed up fiat currency system and trillions of US reserve currency being pumped into the world economy...that will definitely blow up in less than five years...I'm hoping I have enough time to prepare by next summer. I think worldwide revolt is a good thing and want to see a lot more of it to break the chains of our masters. I'm not overtly optimistic however....we'll probably end up with some form of feudalism.

My other concern would be Yellowstone blowing its top, that would be a game ender for sure. Not much we can do about that.

It looks like the US dollar is not going to be the worlds reserve currency much longer. When that happens, we here in the US will see hyper inflation like you have never imagined. And then when all the people living on government handouts don't get their public assistance all hell will break out. We have been on an unsustainable path for too long. There will be a crash, and It feels close. It seems to me that the Politicians are intent on destruction of this once great country. They could not do any better job of bringing the US, (and the rest of the world) down if they tried. The only politician that I know of that talks any since is Ron Paul, but I fear he is about 30 years to late. The American voters wanted "Change" and here it comes. It is truly sad.

Ron Paul, imo, is the last hope for a political solution. The US needs him and so does the rest of the world. He should have Gary Johnson as his running mate as he's well on his way to becoming the next Ron Paul. But hey, I don't have any say.

The Middle East is imploding and will leave a huge vacuum of power. It looks like the Muslim B-hood is/will fill that vacuum. Shortly after we will see a "United Muslim Nations" and who knows where the world goes from there. Rest assured the sheeple of America will not be ready for what is going to happen.

The thing with that, Patriotic Sheepdog, is that muslims don't get along well with each other either. I heard it described once that if there were two muslims and an American in a room, the muslims would get together and kill the American, then they would try to kill each other. Look at the history of the area. They have NEVER managed to pull it all together. The whole area has been nothing but fiefdoms, as long as one warlord stays strong enough to kill off the competition. I don't expect that to change. Now, having said that, it IS possible for them to pull it together for just long enough to present a HUGE problem for us. That's what I worry about, not about some huge muslim nation.

"Muslim's" barely fall on my radar. I'm more concerned with fanatics of any religion, politicians, nationalists and any other sort of collectivist. People who use the system to their advantage at the determent of everyone else also are a big concern, Wall Street bankers being a good example of this. But then, they wouldn't be a threat had govts not given their the opportunity to use the 'rules' to their advantage.

So they protest and oil prices go up which in turn raises the cost of gasoline. We have protests here by the union/communists members so the price of food the rest of the world gets from us should go up.

I know the price of food is going up but thats because our government is printing too much money.

I'd like to see food prices we export tied to oil prices.

With turmoil in the Middle East, rising gas prices, stock market volatility, global tensions, solar storms, possible US dollar collapse, real estate meltdown, pandemics, natural disasters and a few other things, people who are not prepared will suffer and people like us will be the ones who have to rebuild after it’s all over. In the end it comes down to the fact that we are screwed it is just a matter of time.
When an emergency is upon you the time for preparation has past.

I believe the entire world is coming apart at the seams! There is just too much violence and turmoil across the globe. I bought groceries yesterday - sticker shock. Butter is $3.79 per pound, coffee is anywhere from $9.00 to 11.00 per 1#11 oz. container. I figure roughly that coffee is $5.86 per pound. Not too many years ago, it was .99 per FULL POUND.

I feel the need to carefully monitor the turn of events and hunker down!
